Being an extremely relational being, huge chunks of my life have been lived with the dream and an ideal of finding security in someone; belonging to, relating to and trusting to always be there with me through the good and bad times of life. I redirected my focus and resources to make this dream happen, giving all that I could and knew to ensure that the person would not have to go through what I had experienced before. But, unfortunately, things often don’t turn out the way I imagine them to be. After all the years of imagining what it can look like and how it would feel just to end up failing yet again, it made me wonder, “when will I ever be enough?”.

For You

When I first began writing songs, a friend of mine - who I had never heard like a girl before - was telling me about someone he met in his new school who was so alike him. They became close friends quickly and they started to develop feelings for each other. 

However, due to her parent’s background and culture, they wanted her to have an arranged marriage instead, which obviously left him frustrated and upset. I was inspired to take the story that he had told me and put it together into a song as I could imagine and relate to the pain he was going through at that time.

Don't Take Her Away

Overthinking is tough sometimes, you just don't know how to escape from it. Especially when my emotions are connected with my thoughts based on feelings I have felt before in similar experiences. You can distract yourself for awhile, but when it comes back, you'd just be trapped in an endless cycle of pain and disappointment.

Just A Dream

One can hope for a life that finds love and success, where loneliness and disappointments  disappears. But in the end, it feels as though I was led on to believe again and again, before watching my efforts crumble over and over. It truly is an extrovert's nightmare to spend a lifetime worrying.

Hope

3 songs in this EP involve the idea of "dreams". I guess it’s because I spent so much time doing just that only to crash back to reality where I have yet to achieve it and things don’t seem to work out. Small interactions would instantly turn into unforgettable moments I hold on to. Still, the story remains constant, where I realise that those moments hold one-sided significance.
