Brydie is freshly back in black and setting up base for London life in 2014! It was an exciting 2013 for Brydie with a monthly residency at We Love Space on Sunday Ibiza also appearing on the line up for Kehakuma at Space, Dirty Bird Closing at Sankeys and Mustachio at the iconic Pikes Hotel. She recently played in Sydney at Spice and Sash and in her hometown Auckland, NZ for Highlife's NYE 2014 event at Stoneyridge vineyard. 2011 is where it all started, with her ninja training as DJ at cool Ibiza lounge bar Kama Sushi for 2 years - located on the white isle’s iconic San Antonio ‘sunset strip’ - It is here where Brydie perfected the art of the warm up. Playing the highly sought after ‘sunset session’ every night, she would take her listeners on a smooth journey from chillout to warmer house beats, disco-fuelled edits, indie dance and deep grooves, drawing on her vast musical knowledge to suit the ever-changing crowds and atmosphere. Gracing the decks at island local hot spots Shardana, Grial, Lo Cura & Boutique Hostal Salinas throughout the last 3 years and also recently at Soho House in London. Brydie also started her own party Connect in NYC winter 2011/12 in Soho where she spun weekly with guests. 
Immersed in Labels such as Tsuba, Wolf+Lamb, Wolf Music, Crosstown Rebels, & VisionQuest… You get a feel for where this girl likes to pick up her records. Citing such diverse artists like Nicolas Jaar, Cassy, Soul Clap, System of Survival and Craig Richards as her current peers and contemporaries. Brydie also draws inspiration from classic acts like Depeche Mode, Cyndi Lauper and Fleetwood Mac to name just a few. Weaving an 80's classic into contemporary electronic music seamlessly in most of her sets and mixes, vinyl/wax is a way of life. Whether its spending hours in a record shop or someone else's bag she has a defining passion and respect for the medium. This reflects in the way she plays records letting them play out, chunky, heavy-handed, long mixes in and out, her femininity and sexuality contrast this which makes her a visual and audio delight.
You’ll find Brydie playing records full of feeling, keeping it deep, soulful and yet always on-trend it's this organic DJ’s skill, reveling in the intimacy of small hot spot bars, back rooms, after hours and private parties where she can show off her diverse musical taste and genuine love of music.
