Riot Dance leads the line with crisp house kicks on a heady rise through the early stages, setting the groove deep into the foundation before an analog-tinged synth line claims the hook. Acidic tones & ethereal stabs offer a generous dose of psychedelia, while the gritty groove ensures Riot Dance’s ability to ignite any dance floor.

Modular Madness harnesses ominous flavors and a driving baseline that ebbs & flows to keep minds melting. The melodies open into swirling synthetics, with revolving reverberations and rich soundscapes capturing the ear from start to finish. The B-side is brimming quick breaks built with dance floor moments in mind. A true techno tool for the selectors amongst us.

Storied German duo Extrawelt arrive at Obscura on remix duty, taking the reins on Riot Dance to twist a low-slung groover. They bring the baseline into the foreground, keeping a delightful vibe alive and welcoming a touch of light to the dark underbelly of the original, before diving back into the deep as the track unfolds. 

Obscura regular Mathew Jonson connects with a producer he knows quite well - his brother Nathan. Together, they remix Modular Madness under their alias Midnight Operator. Picking up the pace, they maintain the acid-laced grit from the original Fedele arrangement, while adding serene melodies to the high-end. A balanced rework from two seasoned veterans.

'Cristian Viviano meets Anna Tur for a stunning collaboration on Descending Order label. The track done with analogue equipment drives you on a rebirth journey. Anna delivers a massive groove link up with Cristian's emotional synthesizers till the break where his Piano accompanies Franco's voice giving together the right sensibility to the lyrics that tells a story that sometimes humans lives, all this combos will definitely move the dancefloor on a strong and conscious experience, to break up the limits and says to be in faith for the process of rebirth, from death to life again!

In addiction three amazing remixes accompany the original version:
Cristian deliver a club mix version with his 909 groove and hypnotic bassline make it more playable and groovy, fit perfect for the clubbing scene.

Anna Tur gives an extra power to the release, delivering an overwhelming discharge of techno for the big rooms, pure energy!

And Techno Italian pioneer Joy Kitikonti made a very intense remix, more minimal but straight to the point.

To complete the work and making it a proper piece of art, the video content by Dario Denso Andriolo, a Sicilian artist, who places the emphasis on the search for oneself. Underlining the words of the text and how useful it is to remember the energy and urgency of life. A triad of symbols, an earthly face, a beating heart and a skull that underlines the fragility of the hold we have on life.

The will to shine of each individual by demonstrating only to themselves the importance of the journey, shining consciously every second.'

Vertere - Mind Against & Somne

Constantly turning around itself, the winding melody of Vertere turns outward and inward at the same time, bringing the listener on a journey outward while mirroring a simultaneous labyrinthine journey inward. Like the word itself, Vertere, with its roots in the Latin word Verto (which itself takes its roots in the earlier Sanskrit word, Vartayati) it signifies the very nature of change itself. It means both to turn and reflect inward and yet also move forward — a call to action for setting in motion new things. A paradox at first glance but also perhaps a surprisingly accurate description of the destructive and reconstructive nature of creation. An apt metaphor for this bright new collaboration between established Life and Death artists Mind Against and the new artist project of Federico Maccherone, aka Somne.

On remix duties, when you have an artist of the caliber of Tobias Freund, you don’t need to ask for anything more and with his outstanding remix of Vertere he very clearly shows why. This long time mainstay of the electronic music scene has managed to stay not just relevant but on the cutting edge longer than most with respected releases on some of the most seminal imprints to be putting out music in the world of underground dance music. With Vertere he takes what’s already top quality material and somehow manages to turn it inward and in his own unique way elevate it to another level entirely. With a relentless beat and a sonic force that is hard to describe with mere words the Tobias. remix of Vertere comes out of the gate like a runaway machine rapturously drunk on its own self awareness. It marches ever forward, full of fervor, and will surely be driving dance floors both large and small to the euphoric edge of the ecstatic state.
