Guy Mantuzur & Sahar Z - Small Heart Attack (Agents Of Time Reinterpretation)

beGun from Barcelona lands in Sincopat putting the focus on the Kiribati islands (Pacific Ocean) as the next destination in this particular electronic music journey. This new work presents two tracks whose names, Kuria and Vostok, correspond to the two most remote capitals of the insular complex and also two of the places that are suffering the most from global warming, and may disappear in the coming decades because of the continuous rise in sea level. In the words of the same producer:

"The goal of aiming at that inhospitable place to a musical level is to be able to contribute my part in the awareness of the effects of climate change, because it would be very unfortunate that in 10 years those two songs are still there while the two towns who gave their names have disappeared from the map”.

With this EP, beGun broadens its own musical spectrum without neglecting its recognized and unique creative personality: always elegant, landscaping and porous in the face of ethnic references through the use of local folk instruments combined with complex rhythms, penetrating basses and atmospheres charged of melancholia. For the remixes, AFFKT gives his own vision of Kuria giving it more musicality with thicker and live synths. For the part we welcome the duo Brigado Crew, who offers a more massive Deep House remix but with a breakdown clearly emotional and vibrant.

Ukrainian duo Woo York deliver a powerful, driving, dark-yet-sophisticated sound on their upcoming ‘Chasing The Dream’ LP, set to drop on May 4 as the first artist album on Afterlife. 

Opening with the brooding and thought-provoking cosmic stabs of the aptly titled ‘Inception’, Woo York guide you through a fluid-like path across ‘Chasing the Dream’, offering fluttering synths on ‘Walk Along The Rainbow’ and a rattling percussive core to ‘There Is A Light.’ Their signature 303 magic hints at acid on ‘Through Peaks and Valleys’, and there is ice-cold ambience to finish in ‘Rise’ and an alternate mix of the title track. Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint begins their 2019 journey by showcasing new interpretations of Matias Vila's 'Ahora'. Originally released in July of 2018 on the label's 'Summer Sampler', it found the Argentina born, Spanish based artist crafting an organic, highly creative production with a myriad of psychedelic concepts. Earning praise from Adana Twins, Audiofly and Kollektiv Turmstrasse, 'Ahora' now gets remade by Stelios Vassiloudis and Eran Aviner & Hermanez for the new year. 

The second and final interpretation of 'Ahora' finds Eran Aviner and Hermanez presenting their debut collaborative effort. As one of Belgium's most cutting edge artists, Eran Aviner is highly selective in choosing his production projects. His short but meticulous discography is highlighted by appearances on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music and Guy Mantzur's Plattenbank Records. Also the co-founder of 'Edge', a leading nightlife brand and record label in Belgium, Eran has shared the stage with Sasha, John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Kiasmos and more. Also hailing from Belgium and making his Sound Avenue debut is Michael Coninx aka Hermanez. Perhaps best known for his timeless, tech-soul productions on Mobilee Records, Noir Music, Suara, Traum and his own Aella imprint, the Belgian artist has recently found a place in the deeper, dreamier spectrum of house with an EP on Guy J's Lost & Found Records and a soon to be released project on All Day I Dream. Now pairing up with fellow countryman Eran Aviner, the duo provide a stunning interpretation of 'Ahora' to close the release out. Building hypnotically; warm beats, organic drums and rugged bass tones unite for a highly rhythmic, free flowing framework. Smooth chord changes deliver a subtle yet powerful shift in emotive energy, as astral effects further saturate your senses as the main break commences. "The Argentinean artist also lays claim to an impressive discography, highlighted by releases on Sudbeat Music and The Soundgarden. Now making his much anticipated Movement Recordings debut, Sebastian presents his ‘Machines’ EP.

Beginning the title cut Sebastian explores the deeper side of his studio repertoire. Free and flowing from the outset it’s well carved low end provides momentous swing while quirky hooks and timely vocal gates fill in the framework. Stripping down into the main break, the vocal narrative expands, opening up a spiritual reservoir before effortlessly shifting energy into a buoyant finale act.

The second selection ‘The End’ follows a similar sonic ethos with a leaning into pure progressive territory. Beginning with a warm, rolling groove the piece moves with discernible momentum as layers of drums and rugged rhythms converge for a hearty rhythmic core. Charming vocal gates and elegant atmospheres flow beautifully into an emotive centrepiece, as mounds of bass build a subtle tension, while ghostly pads and hopeful overlays fully saturate your pleasure centres. An impassioned creation from Sebastian.

The release concludes with ‘Budapest’ which presents a myriad of emotions across its nine minute journey. Beginning with a dark, ominous vibe the creation evolves through mounds of bass, waves of percussion and cross cultural motifs, eventually transitioning into an emotive state of mind. Poignant keys and wispy atmospherics elevate the mood during a second act bridge, before melting down into an otherworldly centrepiece led by a spiritual vocal, perfectly setting up a cosmic finale. It rounds out a superb Movement Recordings debut for Sebastian, setting up what should be an incredible year for the talented Argentine. Highly recommended."

‘The Secret Of Eos’ started with one of those special requests: Tale Of Us asked the Italian duo for something special for their weekly opening sets at Hi, Ibiza. The track was delivered and it became a key staple of their sets all summer.

A true scene-pace-tone setter, drop this and watch the whole crowd lock-in en masse as they submit to the journey… A journey that can be extended and manipulated to your pleasure thanks to the beatless version which highlights the musical versatility of the track and how it lends itself to any sets in the house/techno/progressive/trance axis.

For the final track of this remarkable EP we head far east for ‘Japan’. A much darker tale told by Daniele Aprile and Mario Roberti, this one firms our focus squarely on that lava-like bassline that morphs, mutates and melts throughout the track, taking us deeper and deeper into Fideles’ signature rabbit hole, to places unchartered.
