The latest release from D.J. MacIntyre's SLC-6 Music finds the label showcasing new interpretations of 'Strange Rain' by Digital Mess. Originally released in August of 2022 and earning support from Kolsch, Nick Warren and Paul Van Dyk, the four-track showcase found the Russian artist crafting a cohesive blend of club-effective tracks, complete with prophetic design and dystopian style narratives. Now, looking to breathe new life into the EP for 2023, SLC-6 Music calls upon Rick Pier O'Neil, Cathy K, F-Act, Leandro Jaime, Sergio Vilas and Gru V to provide their own unique versions. 

Making his label debut and providing the first interpretation of 'Reprise' is Rick Pier O'Neil. For years, he felt adrift, like a boat without a rudder, tossed between different paths. He tried various jobs, attempted to fit into molds that never quite suited him. But the one constant, the one thing that always pulled him back, was music. It wasn’t just something he loved—it was his lifeline. Yet, despite the passion, he never had the courage to share it.

He spent countless hours at his desk, surrounded by the hum of synthesizers, the whir of his computer. His studio was a small room, filled with cables, glowing screens, and equipment that felt like an extension of himself. Music flowed through him effortlessly, but for the longest time, it stayed locked inside, never making its way beyond the walls of his home.

One day, after months of experimentation, trial, and error, he finished a track. It was raw, yet polished—his story, his emotions captured in sound. He named it Steer, a reflection of the journey he had taken to get there. The song wasn’t just music to him; it was a symbol of his decision to stop second-guessing and trust his instincts. He was steering himself in the right direction, embracing the risk of going all-in on his dream.

With a deep breath, he uploaded it to SoundCloud.

At first, nothing happened. The track sat quietly, gathering only a few plays and likes. But then, he received a notification that made his heart race: Steer had been featured on SoundCloud’s Rising Artists list for Belgium. And then another notification popped up—Melodic Deep Vibes, one of the platform’s top channels, had added it to their playlist.

The song, which had been born in the solitude of his small studio, began to spread. It was picked up by listeners in far-off places, shared and celebrated by strangers who connected with the sound, the energy, the story.

Each comment, each new play, filled him with a sense of wonder. Steer had become more than just a track—it was a sign that he had found his way. The world had heard him, and the journey that had once felt so uncertain now felt like an unfolding path. He had steered himself into the unknown, and the world had followed.

Every day, the boy rode his bike to work, the same long route, winding through quiet streets and wide, open fields. The journey, though long, felt peaceful. With each pedal, he found himself immersed in the rhythm of the ride, a quiet sense of purpose guiding him forward.

What kept him moving wasn’t just the work that awaited him, but the music that he was creating in his mind. He called it In the Distance, a track that felt both close and far at the same time, like a melody floating on the wind, just out of reach but always present.

As he rode, the melody played in his head—bright, joyful, full of energy. It was a reflection of happiness, fun, and freedom, but there was also an atmospheric quality to it, as if it existed in a world of its own, floating above the ordinary. The gentle hum of his bike wheels seemed to match the rhythm of the music, the sound blending seamlessly with the world around him.

During the ride, he would find small moments to work on the music in his mind, layering in ideas, shaping the notes with each turn of the pedals. It was as though the journey itself had become part of the track—a quiet, joyful dance between his thoughts and the open road.

By the time he reached his destination, In the Distance had taken shape in his mind, a perfect reflection of the peace and happiness he felt during the ride. It was more than just a song; it was a state of mind, a reminder that joy could always be found, even in the simplest of moments. And with that thought, he would continue on, knowing that the music was never far away.

The two brothers had spent the day exploring the beach in Zeeland, enjoying the quiet rhythm of the sea and the cool breeze that swept across the sand. The older brother wandered further ahead, collecting seashells and staring out over the horizon, while the younger one lingered by the water’s edge. It was then that something caught his eye—off to the side, a stone was balancing delicately atop another, perfectly still. He had never seen anything like it before, and it seemed almost magical, like the rocks had found a way to defy gravity.

He called out, “Look at this!” and the older brother came over, his curiosity piqued.

"How’s it staying like that?" the older brother asked, crouching down to inspect it.

The younger one, excited, picked up a rock and tried to mimic the balance. His first attempt failed—the rock tumbled off as soon as he set it down. He tried again, this time with a bigger stone, but it fell even faster.

“It’s harder than it looks,” he muttered, a bit frustrated but undeterred.

The older brother, after watching him for a while, crouched down beside him and said, “It’s all about patience and the right balance. You have to feel it.”

The younger one nodded and tried once more, this time listening to the calm rhythm of the waves, focusing on the weight of each stone, and carefully adjusting the tilt. Gradually, the rocks began to stay in place, one on top of the other, slowly taking shape.

With each new stone, the structure grew, until finally, they had created a circle of balanced rocks—a simple, delicate ring, standing strong against the wind and the sea.

“That looks good,” the older brother said, standing back and admiring the work.

The younger brother smiled, feeling a quiet sense of pride. “Yeah, we did it.”

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows on the sand, the two brothers stood for a moment in silence, their circle of stones marking a quiet victory. The world was vast, the ocean endless, but in that small, balanced ring, they found a perfect moment of peace.

One evening, as the world outside dimmed into the quiet of dusk, he began to play with new patterns. The familiar pads and arpeggios that had filled his tracks now felt too soft, too expected. His fingers traced the keys with more purpose, searching for something different, something that would shake the room with a raw, untamed energy.

And then, the growl came. A deep, rumbling sound that rose up from his machines, vibrating the air. It wasn’t a note—it was a feeling. The synths twisted into something primal, an animalistic roar that stirred something deep within him. It wasn’t planned; it simply happened. And he let it happen.

The track built from there, a journey of sound that pushed and pulled in unpredictable ways. Each layer felt like a new discovery, a deeper dive into the unknown. He wasn’t simply making music anymore; he was uncovering something vast, something he had always known but never fully embraced. The growl of the synths became a heartbeat—a lion’s call to the world, echoing through the room, through the space between him and the machines.

As the track neared its end, something changed. The intensity softened, the growl fading into a delicate melody, subtle yet full of emotion. It felt like a quiet acknowledgment of something beautiful, something fleeting. In the stillness of those final notes, a connection sparked—an unfamiliar yet powerful feeling.

Across the distance of time and space, in a city far away, a woman’s presence lingered in the sound. It wasn’t anything he could explain, but it was there—a warmth, a pull, as if their energies had briefly intertwined through the music itself.

He named the track Find Yourself, a reflection of the journey he had unknowingly taken, both in sound and in spirit. The upload was simple, just another step in the unfolding of something larger than he could fully grasp. But deep down, he knew this moment was the start of something new.

For days, she had felt an unspoken pull, as if the trees themselves were guiding her. Then, hidden beneath a tangle of roots, she found it a small, weathered box. It was no larger than a loaf of bread, its wood etched with patterns too intricate to make sense of. As she closed the box, he felt a soft warmth settle in her chest. The air around her seemed to grow still, the trees more alive, the light more vivid. She wasn’t sure what had happened, only that the world had shifted, and she had shifted with it.

She stood in the woods, a gentle peace enveloping her, knowing that the universe, in all its vastness, had never been outside of her. It had always been right there, hidden in the quiet spaces, waiting to be found. And now, she understood.

Creative genius Airwave aka Belgian music maestro Laurent Veronnez, returns to Bonzai Progressive with a truly outstanding 4 track EP titled Bliss. This one marks a shift in Airwave’s usual style, a shift that will grab the attention of a whole new base of music lovers. We sat down with Laurent so that he could give us the lowdown on this new direction, here’s what he had to say. “Most people know me for my energy driven multi-layered Trance productions. But there is also another side to me that deeply cherishes and admires the music you get to listen to on my LCD Sessions Podcast, notably deep, progressive, underground music. I have been experimenting with these types of sounds quite a lot lately, trying to find my own way around this style, creating my own sound within it. The result is my Bliss EP, which I am extremely proud to announce to the world. The 4 tracks are representative of what I play out on my LCD Sessions, without compromising what I am known for. Musically speaking, the new tracks are the perfect transition of where I come from and where I want to go. As with all my tracks in the past I have poured my heart and soul into this EP, it took me a long time to finally accept that they were truly perfect for me and I hope that I have made something that will also be treasured by my fans and beyond.” An intriguing insight into the creative process of a highly gifted artist, we love this new material and we know you will too.

Bliss has a sense of new ground being broken through exploratory sounds that blend effortlessly into a wonderfully solid progressive groove. Tight beats and rhythmic patterns lead the way alongside a mesmerizing, bubbly bassline while captivating melodies swirl around the groove. Distorted synths line up against warm chords as anticipation builds creating a contrast between blissful sounds and much deeper elements.

Cyberian is a superb slice of deep progressive house with an epic feel. Right from the get go we’re drawn into the groove as nice chunky kick drums and shuffling percussions get the feet tapping. The track takes us on an intriguing journey as the layers build and new sounds emerge. A solid, driving groove ensues leading to a short break which introduces hypnotic arpeggios to give the track a truly progressive vibe.

Waterdrop takes us deeper into the progressive realm with an infectious groove that does not let go. The foundation of the track is a strong, deep bassline delivering a groovy undertone and driving the track alongside a rhythmic drum section. Subtle melodies create a wonderful harmonic trait in the groove with the bassline getting in on the act also.

Gravy Train rounds up this awesome EP delivering 9 minutes of pure progressive paradise with a deep meditative groove. The beautifully crafted drum arrangement creates a steady rhythmic flow as droning basses lurk on the low end. Scathing, edgy stabs and surreal rising pads clash and bring us to the break where plucky melodic synths take over. The break climaxes with a superb build up before we head back to full on mode for the duration.

Olivier Fraikin, performing under the alias Soelaas, is an electronic music producer and performer whose sound blends enigmatic melodies with found sounds to create a unique style of melodic, ethereal, and organic techno. His music is more than just sound; it is a journey designed to offer solace and comfort to listeners, helping them navigate through the challenges of life. The name Soelaas, meaning "solace" in Dutch, reflects his mission to provide emotional relief and connection through his art.

Born on September 22, 1990, in Heusden-Zolder, Belgium, Olivier’s musical journey began with a strong connection to rhythm and texture. From a young age, he explored traditional instruments like the djembe and didgeridoo, which helped shape his understanding of percussive dynamics and organic sound. These early experiences with world instruments would become foundational in his creative approach to electronic music.

At age 17, in 2007, Olivier began exploring minimal techno under the DJ name Duif-inc. During this time, he created sets using Virtual DJ, experimenting with mixing and blending different tracks and sharpening his ear for sound design and rhythm. Later on, he transitioned to Traktor, allowing him to further refine his DJing style and explore deeper sonic textures.

In 2015, Olivier began a new chapter of musical exploration with a co-production project called Animalisch, alongside his friend Kinky Brain Monkey (now known as Lavy). The project was raw, imaginative, and genre-bending, allowing both artists to push boundaries and experiment freely with sound. This collaboration sparked a deeper dive into electronic production tools and marked a natural evolution in Olivier’s creative journey.

Olivier taught himself how to produce music using Ableton, Maschine, and his growing arsenal of synthesizers. Through trial and error, hours of practice, and a deep passion for sound design, he developed the skills to craft his own unique sound. Inspired by the works of Daft Punk, metal, ska-dub-reggae punk, and later by Stephan Bodzin, Extrawelt, Soul Button, and Clawz SG, Soelaas became captivated by the potential of synthesizers, fascinated by their ability to create expansive, atmospheric worlds. He also drew inspiration from Goa music, appreciating its hypnotic rhythms and intricate melodies, which subtly influenced his sound design. His background in beatboxing remains central to his music, with vocal percussion often woven seamlessly into his electronic compositions.

Beyond music, Olivier is also passionate about abstract painting. He finds that his creativity flows naturally across both mediums, using visual art as a means to explore and express complex emotions and ideas. Just as his music explores intricate layers and textures, his paintings reflect the same sense of depth, abstraction, and emotional exploration, creating a visual counterpart to his sonic landscape.

Soelaas’ music reflects his personal mission: to help listeners find peace and solace amid the struggles of life. Through the use of synthesizers, he creates lush, evolving melodies and textures that form the backbone of his compositions. His tracks are carefully crafted with layered synthesized sounds alongside found sounds—recordings of nature, urban life, and everyday objects—that add depth, atmosphere, and an earthy, human element to his music.

The music of Soelaas is both emotive and hypnotic. With intricate basslines, ethereal pads, and evolving soundscapes, his productions evoke a sense of calm introspection while maintaining a driving energy that works perfectly in both personal listening and club environments. His continued use of beatboxing adds a unique, percussive element that ties together the organic and synthetic aspects of his sound, creating a dynamic and multifaceted experience.

At the heart of Soelaas’ work is the idea of using music as a tool for healing and emotional connection. His name, Soelaas, encapsulates this ethos—offering comfort and refuge through sound. He believes music can transcend the struggles of everyday life and provide listeners with clarity, peace, and emotional release.

His work often blends found sounds from the natural world—such as the sounds of wind, water, and city streets—with synthesizers to create a sonic experience that feels both organic and futuristic. This interplay between the natural and synthetic reflects his broader philosophy: that within life’s chaos, beauty and calm can still be found. In July 2024, he released the EP Awake on the Threerecords label, which was well-received for its atmospheric textures and driving rhythms.

On December 21, 2024, he was featured on the Dit Klingt Jut talent album, further highlighting his growing reputation in the electronic music scene.

On January 10, 2025, he released the EP Essence on Inner Symphony, diving deep into emotional expression and sonic exploration.

On January 24, 2025, he followed up with his debut full-length album Salvus ab Inferis, a powerful collection that spans a wide emotional spectrum.

His EP Balance came out on Be Adult Music on February 17, 2025, reinforcing his commitment to emotional resonance through music.

On March 28, 2025, his track Leverage of the Soul was released on Steyoyoke’s Perception Vol. 11 [SYYKPERC011], marking a deeply atmospheric contribution to the series.

Most recently, on July 11, 2025, Soelaas released a hauntingly beautiful remix: Nohar – Unstable (Soelaas Remix) on Inner Symphony, showcasing his ability to transform original material into something profoundly moving and emotionally rich.
