Tibi Dabo returns with ‘Overture’, a third tantalising single from his forthcoming Crosstown Rebels album, with remixes from Map.ache and Aline Umber.

The first two singles from the project, ‘Triple Frontier’ and ‘Licht’, have shown what Barcelona’s Tibi Dabo is all about - forward-thinking electronic music with original drums (a result of him having toured the globe with his band) and plenty of cosmic twists and character. A label favourite having dropped his ‘Isla’ EP on Crosstown Rebels back in 2022, ahead of his much-anticipated debut LP comes this third superb taster from it.

The superb ‘Overture’ is an eight-minute gem with super smooth percussion and elastic grooves, with wispy sci-fi chords and gentle synth modulations. It’s full of future feels and catchy drum funk that is sophisticated and smartly detailed with choppedup vocal fragments.

First to remix is Leipzig’s Map.ache, co-founder of Kann Records and member of the Giegling family. His take builds with fatter drums that are just as infectious, while rippling synth loops weave in and out as flashy basslines cut loose and balmy pads add extra cosmic absence to a hypnotic mix of the heady and the physical.

Aline Umber, a collaborative live project from French composers, producers and DJs Aline Brooklyn and Aman Umber, are second to remix. They run the Airfunk label and are no stranger to playing cult spots like Rex Club in Paris. Their ‘23% Eventide’ mix is a blissed-out and synth-laced trip with subtle, smeared chords and starry-eyed keys that have you gazing off into the distance as you get lost in the warm drums.

UK-based DJ and producer Wallace debuts on Phantasy Sound with an irresistible double A-side single on 12" vinyl and digital formats, 'Cravings (ft. Love Letters) / Concourse.' Bubbling with sensuality and euphoria, both tracks reinforce Wallace's burgeoning reputation as one of electronic music's most impressive new voices.

Led by a longing, inquisitive performance from vocalist and underground house music luminary, Love Letters, 'Cravings' builds from a simple throbbing bass line to an eruption of lyrical and musical joy. Exploring onset desire – risk, uncertainty, and ultimately, reward – Wallace's deep and celebratory arrangement interweaves with Love Letters' queer perspective to deliver universal satisfaction.

While 'Cravings' looks inward to find release, 'Concourse' goes for the jugular with a darker, more epic sensibility than Wallace has previously indulged. His flawless production touch seamlessly gifts magic to a widescreen techno epic that might not sound out of place on the terrace at Circoloco or else a field near early-nineties Frankfurt.

Cravings ft. Love Letters

French producer Pierre-Alexandre Busson, known as Yuksek, has enjoyed a storied career spanning over two decades. Since rising to prominence in 2000, he has become an acclaimed remixer, composer, and collaborator, with a catalog that includes six full-length studio albums. In 2021, Busson introduced his DESTIINO project as a departure from conventional creative methods, embracing spontaneous improvisation born from unstructured studio synth sessions. The resulting dark, melancholic recordings were so compelling that his friend Chloé convinced him to release them via her Lumière Noire label.

DESTIINO’s latest release, out now on Lumière Noire, features two captivating tracks. The lead single, Imagery, brims with carefree charm, blending mechanical melodies and cloudy soundscapes into a bittersweet rhythm that lingers. The second track, Somlake featuring Iñigo Vontier, delivers a syncopated calypso groove with coiling synths and sporadic percussion, evoking the eclectic style of DESTIINO’s debut LP. Together, the tracks exemplify Busson’s evolving artistry and his ability to craft immersive sounds.
