sof_signal is an alternative band formed in Barcelona at the end of 2022. After releasing their debut EP ‘Exits’ in 2023, the group decided to embrace the more experimental aspects of songwriting and live performance, giving greater emphasis to the visual aspect of the live show, utilizing their interest in film-making to create specialist pieces that link the band’s songs together, thematically. 

Inspired by artists like Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Diiv, the group have also begun experimenting with sampling and additional instrumentation, moving away from the traditional “rock band setlist” and towards creating coherent audio-visual journeys that explore more existential themes.

To this end, the band have been looking to other genres, such as hip-hop and shoegaze, for inspiration to create loops and transitional pieces that create a fluid live experience that blends audio and visual stimuli.

After a creative hiatus during winter 2024, the band are set to return to the live circuit in April 2025, announcing their return with the new single Apollo (and other such Gods), which will be released on April 1st via Right Here Right Now, to all major platforms. 

The group are set to record their second (as yet untitled) EP in July 2025, with long-term friend, and producer of the band, Adrià Marva (Banidcoot Records). The new record will break away from the indie-rock sound of Exits and continue the transition towards experimental songwriting that the band sees as their future.
