AYO is the solo ambient project of Danish composer Julie Schønherr Rosengreen. Having a background as a violinist, AYO’s sound is influenced by the classical world, which reasons her big appreciation for slow evolving pads, melodies and how they interact with each other, dynamic variations and deep emotional expressions.
AYO attempts to create a timeless bubble of calm atmospheric sounds that takes you on journey through scandinavian forests, white mountains and northern lights. She mirrors her surroundings while expressing her reaction to it, by creating a sonic landscape of crisp metallic yet organic timbres, effects, drone subs and sometimes slow and deep minimalistic rhythms.
