00年代半ば生まれたダブステップは様々なジャンルに取り込まれながら総称としてベース・ミュージックとなり、James Blakeのデビュー・アルバム以降、インディ・ロックも巻き込みポスト・ダブステップで多いに盛り上がった2011年のクラブ・ミュージック・シーン。そこへもう一つ新たなる潮流をとして加わったのがPlanet Muが牽引するシカゴ発の最新ゲットー・ダンス・ミュージック「ジューク」と言えるでしょう。80年代のシカゴ・ハウスをルーツとし、リアルなストリート・カルチャーに育まれながらゲットー・ハウスから進化を遂げ、ローカルのみであった特異のダンス・ミュージックは昨年突如としてPlanet Muにより世界へと発信され、今年に入ってからは同レーベルのMachinedrumや[WARP]のAfrica Hitechの最新作にもその影響は顕著に見られるように、現行UKベース・ミュージックを中心に新たなる展開を見せています。多くのジャンルがリバイバルや原点回帰へと傾倒する中、ジュークは"新しい"と断言できる数少ない音楽であり、最も"尖った"ダンス・ミュージックであることに間違いありません。そのコンピーレーション第２弾『Bangs & Works Vol.2』(ZIQ310)のリリースに合わせて日本限定のジューク・キャンペーンを開催します。

D.J. Fulltono (Bootytune):

90年代から大阪・京都で活躍するDJ/トラックメーカー。シカゴハウスからGhettotech、Juke/Footworkまでを通眼する唯一の存在として、トリッキーかつロングミックスなDJスタイルでフロアを盛り上げる。Juke/Ghettotechを専門にリリースする日本唯一のレーベル「Booty Tune」を主宰し、世界目線で日本発のBooty Musicを提示している。昨年12月には、自身でも初めてとなる、日本初のJuke MixCD「NONSTOP JUKE MIX SOUTHSIDE CONSTRUCTION」を大阪のNODEレーベルからリリース。また、今年5月のDOMMUNE「JUKE解体新書」 への出演のほか、6月には日本最大の英字新聞「Japan Times」にて特集が組まれるなど、多方面で注目を浴びている。
