Mosillator - IT'S PAINING

Showcasing their next release, Sinful Maze exposes a gem of an artist Chiyu. Settled in Osaka, Japan, Chiyu reveals her perplexing and deranged nature with a monstrous 4-track release at the prodigiously young age of 18. Mark Sin was gracious enough to reach out and get a few insights from Chiyu for us. She's been producing Drum and Bass for just a year now, she started experimenting in music-making mashups in 2018. and only started producing properly in 2019 mainly making Dubstep. 2020 marked the formal start of her Drum and Bass production. Growing up she listened to a lot of EDM, especially Virtual Riot. Aside from Drum & Bass she is also inspired by many other genres such as Future Bass, Dubstep, Techno, and Kpop as well. Just this year she graduated high school and is now studying graphic design at college. Due to her busy schedule with college, she plans on taking a break from music for quite some time… That being said her inevitable return to music will be fondly anticipated as we’re enthralled by the latest EP 'Vyior'.

Today, we're ecstatic to premiere her track 'Chasm’' an in-house favorite from the release at Rendah HQ.

Starting out hypnotic and almost ethereal, “Eirene” quickly builds into a syncopated anthem. The cinematic-like atmosphere should have you prepared for just how the tune represents a cohesive relation between peace & disorder. Inspired by the new age dnb sound by the likes of mefjus, imanu & Buunshin, this tune is my twisted take on the foghorn.

About UKato

UKato, a 21-year-old record producer/tastemaker from Gurgaon, India, has always prioritised genre blending. He is heavily influenced by industrial new age avant garde Neuro influenced DnB.

Prior to this, he dabbled in various other electronic music styles and released on labels such as disco::wax (Sony), Trap City, and ZEKE BEATS,  which garnered 1.5 million streams combined and helped him gain commercial notoriety from many industry heavyweights, as well as putting out an official Drum N Bass remix for Grammy winning DJ/Producer graves & ZEKE BEATS, which is still placed on the best Drum N Bass Editorial playlist

Lacuna's rebirth as a producer is marked by the Transmute EP. Since his last album, Skeng, he has been delving further into sound design and attempting to be more expressive in his hip hop-inspired bass music. Following the covid shutdown, he travelled all around India, from mountains to oceans, which helped him carve out greater sophistication in both his music and himself.

He claims, "My method has gotten slower and deeper, with a strong connection to what I'm trying to achieve musically and the surroundings I'm in. The Transmute EP rhythms began in the mountains, concluded near the coast, and now that I'm back in the mountains, I'm ready to share them with everyone."
