11th edition of Voodoo Cuts - A selection of new house, techno, electronica and everything in between with a few classics thrown in for good measure.

Winding down after Miami Music Week finds us winding up club nights in general as we slowly get back to normal’ish. This week is an exploration of driving bass lines. One of my favorite producers of late is Patrice Baumel. The  Dutch producer is known for crisp and clean, non-repetitive, productions with a certain musicality to balance against driving harmonic bass lines. Those bass lines have an “IT” factor. The sound is hard to describe, but when you hear it, you know. And you don’t forget. 

I hope you enjoy the 2 hours of melodic house and techno focusing on “that”sound.  As a special treat, the closing track this week is a promo from Cioz and Get Physical Music featuring a remix of Patrice Baumel’s classic Clair. The track is slated for wide scale release April 26th. Cheers!

About Ben Gingras:

Ben Gingras is an American house and techno DJ who has been a deep-rooted dance music and rave scene member for 25 years. He’s a newly minted resident for Fader Events, following a breakout live PA in support of Rodriguez Jr. & Liset Alea and headlining the closing party of St. Petersburg’s Movement Sanctuary. 

Ben has been a musician his whole life, beginning in his early childhood when he played upright bass in his school orchestra. He comes from a musical family, which is often heard in his productions as piano or saxophone elements, instruments played by his parents.  

His DJ sets are known for their intricate programming and long mixes, a callout to his insatiable appetite for music history and knowledge, which has resulted in a deep catalog of ‘crate diggers’ that pair perfectly with modern cuts. Ben has respected and admired the ability of music to move people collectively through shared positive experiences since he was a child, a gift he hopes to give back through his music.
