"Coming back out with new music, I wanted the first record that I released to be real lyrical and at the same time I wanted to explain what was going on behind the scenes during the last two years. When you think of 90s hip hop and true lyricists, one of the first artists that come to mind is "Nas". Growing up, my step pops used to rap classic 90s hip hop records to me; most of the time without the actually record playing. One of these records was "It Ain't Hard To Tell". I remember being in my kitchen and hearing him say the words "Sneak a uzi on the island in my army jacket linin", haha. I felt this was the perfect time to for me spit over a Nas beat, and show my growth as an artist. When I recorded this record with Roc, you can hear and at the same time feel the passion and hunger that I had locked in. After recording it, we knew this had to be the comeback record.
