Dresden-based DJ and producer @AcidAdams collects four acid monsters, both from the glorious nineties and from a multi-layered present. The result is a record that dives deep into acid wonderland and bridges the gap between scene’s veterans and the new generation.

After Acid Adams discovered two forgotten acid tracks from the early nineties while digging for new music, the plan for this compilation slowly matured. While it was meant to be a tribute to every bird’s favorite genre, it shouldn’t be just a showcase for older tracks. Therefore, two new tracks were added to join the tracks by Nihilist and ADSX which have never been released on vinyl before. Each of the new productions is inspired by one of the older tracks, not in the sense of a remix or edit, but as a kind of homage to that particular squawking analog sound we all know and love. The energy and pace of these four unique tracks reaches from ambient to dance floor focused bangers.

According to the circumstances of scene and society at that time, the two older tracks were produced by (cis)men. That’s why, it was especially important to Acid Adams that the new tracks were produced by flinta* artists: softcoresoft is a DJ and producer from Canada, who has already released on Lobster Theremin. With Ida Bux, a native of Bautzen who now lives and works in Berlin, we connect the dots to a younger generation that is getting back into analog production setups. Both artists have in common that they have dealt extensively with the oldschool sound of the 90s in shaping their own sounds.

To round off the release properly, Saxony based illustrator frieedland has designed a matching sticker in the typical 90s style. And for those who can't get enough of acid: There's a digital bonus track by ADSX.

Puerto Rico was devastated by hurricane Maria on September 20, 2017 — the strongest storm to make landfall there since 1928. 

The island’s already-fragile electrical grid was completely destroyed. Half of Puerto Rico’s 3.5 million residents still remain without access to clean water. There are widespread major food and fuel shortages. In the face of this humanitarian disaster, the Trump government has repeatedly misinformed the public while carrying out grossly negligent aid distribution. 

100% of the proceeds of this compilation will be donated to The Hurricane Maria Community Relief & Recovery Fund, a grassroots organization working on recovery and rebuilding in the areas most affected by Maria. The Fund is housed at the Center for Popular Democracy and is governed by local grassroots organizations like Taller Salud. More info: bit.ly/2yrQ7l5

This one felt finished enough to have little life of its own out into the world, maybe on some dancefloors.🌎 It's called "patterns": a no-frills trippy techno workout that unravels at the end. It had been a while since I wanted to make a slow mix, around 100 BPM.  I’ve been collecting quite a bit of music around that tempo that never gets to see the light of a dancefloor laser. The selection broadly belongs to the "noisy synth excursions” category, with a strong cinematic sensibility—I'm thinking John Carpenter's soundtracks, and lots of noise with a side of chaos.

For this website, I've designed soundscape loops for each of the six chapters: Stormy Skies, Living Shorelines, Rising Waters, An Endangered Ocean, Currents of Migration and Manufactured Coasts. Blending and effecting samples of Ondes Martenot, whale songs, water, birds and noise, I've sought to create a cohesive and inviting sonic narrative which speaks to each chapter's theme. 

This documentary was presented at RIDM festival 2017.

softcoresoft joins the Lobster family with her debut release on Lobster Theremin Black, with five propulsive, space jams. Dropping 18th October, Otherworlds EP is cosmic Techno from the Montreal-based artist that will have you hooked!

A1, Meteor Shower signals the shape of things to come, kicking off the EP with mesmeric, acid lines. Mycophilia (A2) is a deeper, driving cut, layered with rave wiggles and ethereal elements. A3 offers broken-beats, bleeps and bloops - ‘Overstatement (Space Edit)’ is a dizzying brain-tickler. On the flip, B1’s ‘Social Compost’, is a tripped out, warehouse wobbler. Rounding out the EP with a final acid cut, ‘Thalassa’ (B2), nods to early Detroit machine music with extraterrestrial influence. A tip for digi buyers, you’ll find ‘Sentiment Analysis’ (B3), stripped back yet pacey, frantic machine music.

Tan bien lo hacen, que han sacado un subsello Lobster Theremin Black para poder publicar referencias más technoides, que se alejan del estilo con el que empezaron a funcionar.
Y esto es lo que nos trae hoy por aquí, la referencia 12 de su subsello más oscuro a cargo de softcoresoft, que debuta en el sello con ‘Otherworlds EP’. 

5 tracks ácidorros que van desde el techno hasta el electro, pasando por el breakbeat. Uno de esos plásticos (porque saldrá el día 18 de octubre en 12”) que cuando llegas a tu tienda favorita te lo llevas porque tiene un corte para primera hora, otro para cierre, otro para hacer transiciones, etc.. Y que podrías poner hasta de canto, que seguro que también se aprovecha.
