Asquith launches his new label Higher Power with four slabs of pace-y, hardcore and UK breakbeat-tinged techno on the blistering 'Set The Trap EP'.

The newly minted label is set to showcase Asquith's own productions, as well as the output of a select number of other sonically-affiliated artists, and has a stated aim of merging the Copenhagen-via-Berlin fast techno-trance sounds with the UK breakbeat, jungle, garage and sub-heavy genre set.

Here we get a taste of several of the label's key genre tones, all wrapped up in a 145-160bpm shiny fast techno wrapper. Proper road runner club fodder to kick off the summer.

'Viceral', 'rugged' & 'raw', are all accurate descriptors for elements that Kris Wadsworth's deploys when building a track - it's what has has piqued the interest of Jimmy Edgar so much so that two of Wadsworth's self released output (Tip: check his label Uranus) have made their way onto Edgar's recently released FABRICLIVE 79 album. It's no surprise then being such a divisive part of the sonic outlay of Edgar's DJ sets that Wadsworth has been invited to join in on the launch party next Friday night where the pair will also be joined by Machinedrum live and Chambray.

Looking forward towards the event we've just taken delivery of a pretty solid mix from the independently spirited DJ/producer which builds the groove with his sonic thump print of roughed-around-the-edges sound design, hard hitting percussion, pleasingly grinding all the way up to 3am techno territory...
