Agnes Martin: In Her Own Words

Legendary composer and musician John Zorn looks on artist Agnes Martin as a significant influence. “Dark River,” from his 1995 album Redbird, was inspired by Martin, and in December 2016 he is giving performances at the Guggenheim in which he will debut two compositions also informed by Martin—“Praise” and “Blue Stratagem.” In this track, Zorn discusses the impact of Martin’s work on his music.

Amapiano is the new house movement emerging from South African townships and taking off as an international phenomenon.

Mr. JazziQ says: "I'm the vibey one, I like uptempo vibes and I enjoy dancing. I want to see people dancing and losing their minds. I’m big on studio sessions, being in studio with an artist, playing them a beat and seeing their response and the reaction of others once we’ve recorded something. I feed off energy, and the sound I like is heavy on baselines, thumping kicks, catchy vocals and the potential to have people starting a dance challenge. You can look out for Reece Madlisa & Zuma, they are under my label and we recently released their debut EP titled 'Ama Roto'. You can also look out for FakeLove, Mzu M, Mpura & Busta 929."
