Concept:

The song is about a guy who notices a stunningly beautiful woman in a cafe/bar. She’s alone in the corner reading a book. The room disappears around her. Rather than going up to her, he keeps his distance. He doesn’t want to ruin the moment as it’s occurring before him. As badly as he truly wants to meet her, he never approaches. He feels unworthy of her beauty.

The verses represent reality and the chorus fantasy. The song is inherently sexual and has a beautiful movement to it. I wanted to create a visual element that was as strongly suggestive as the lyrics/melody are (available on YouTube). Sour Love describes this feeling of lost love. Yet, at the same time, he can accept it. The bitterness doesn’t overtake him because he has a strong respect for beauty and has control of his desires.

This was a project that started in 2018 with Tayio after realizing how much potential collaborating with this great artist was! He wrote some great lyrics and played some great parts on the electric guitar and saxophone. I love producing tracks with him!
