Stone Seed presents Natural Intelligence 2.0 - a modernisation by Tom Baker. Our last release of 2025 is a fitting one. A full circle moment as Baker takes influence from the ambient breath of Natural Intelligence (that first saw light on his debut album Ruled By The Machines), forging a fresh energy with contemporary production skills and sleek style. 2.0 arrives as a daytime doof anthem of the Australian summer, painting picturesque scenery of golden gumtrees shading glimmering grass. As we officially close the chapter of Ruled By The Machines, we reflect on the journey that Tom has embarked on in the last three years, exploring the exciting balance of progressive and psychedelic, technical and minimal, emotion and grit. The Ruled By The Machines series saw Baker remixed by figureheads Quivver, Yuli Fershtat and Electrypnose alongside many talented peers… but it makes so much sense for the chapter to be closed by Tom himself.

Shadow of the Anima

This Fable is an inwards quest, one of reflection through winter's darkness. It is a story of hurt, pain, abandonment. A story of letting go. This song speaks to the universal archetypes within our psyche. It tells the tale of the shadow side of one self. It speaks to the shadow of the anima. What does this mythical creature tell us when psytrance evokes its voice? 

They want reassurance that we will always be there for them, to have their back, to hug them, to soothe them. And this song promises, that we will be, in the healthiest amount possible. It comes to terms with what healthy amount is possible, and so the bloodletting begins. The blood spatters out in sadness, in hurt, in betrayal, in regret, and in grief, out onto the dead trees. Wisdom is found in all trees. May these roots grow deep.
