In this installment of Sound Advice, we speak with dubstep DJ/producer Jesse Karden, better known as Subtronics, to talk about the latest installment of his two-part opus, ‘Fibonacci.’ The pair of albums draw inspiration from the Fibonacci sequence, a natural mathematical pattern which Subtronics shares “represents a totality; an all-inclusive mathematical equation for all of reality.” Throughout our conversation, we dive into the creative depths of the concept albums, his approach to collaboration, how he’s built up his sound and style, and how SoundCloud plays a crucial role in his career, from running his Cyclops Recordings label to nurturing the community that helped fuel his journey to becoming one of dubstep’s most innovative producers today.

This mix was inspired by my dad <3 he has been my biggest fan since day one, he actually thought of the name G-Space for me, when i didnt even know what to call myself lmfao <3 he said with a peace sign, " "G-Space" because it's always been about the Grateful Dead drums & space. And the G stands for Grady & Grateful Dead etc." and i said word and rolled with it ever since. much love! also, this mix is inspired by some recent advice he gave me, "play an old school g-space song, into a new song, into a collab/friend's song".
