Cup of Life is a collection of modern and ancient music that holds powerful healing vibrations within the words and melodies. This album was created in the spirit of ceremony, with the intention of creating a healing, uplifting and inspiring environment, mentally, physically and spiritually, for the ones who are listening. Alexander’s own songs that he has received through his own spiritual work are the special feature of this Collection. This being his debut album, he also wished to honor a selection of well loved hymns that have had a transformative and healing influence on his life. These unique and beautiful renditions of traditionally sung hymns, which are sung in Portuguese, have their origins in Brazil and Beyond, possessing spiritual and devotional elements of Christianity and African and Amazonian healing curadores. And we cannot forget to mention the Afro-Brazilian pontos that are also included in this album, honoring the primordial Orixas! Viva!

Band from the "Templo Mãe d'água" (Templo Mother of the waters).
Situated in the community Samasati, in Alto Paraiso de Goias, Brasil.

Temple Mãe D’Água is located in Samasati. A beautiful valley, with an altitude of 1200 meters, near the town of Alto Paraíso in the state of Goiás, and 240 Km north of Brasilia, the capital of Brazil. Members of the temple started drinking Ayahuasca together in 1996, before the community started in Samasati, when Yatra first came to Alto Paraiso  to lead workshops and ayahuasca ceremonies in the nearby community “Lua”. At that time she was also directing “Friends of the Forest” in the Netherlands, and running an experimental drug addiction treatment program there. In the year 2000 Yatra moved back to Brazil, into the community of Samasati. At that time treatment for drug addiction with ayahuasca in Holland had stopped, due to the changing legality of the medicine there. Soon the ayahuasca community started to grow inside Samasati. The members went through a process of transformation and awakening together. From those precious moments, with love and deep gratitude, the members built their temple “Mãe D’Agua” (Mother of Water) and continued their spiritual work. Shortly after that they created the “Awareness Center of the Friends of the Forest” (Centro de Conscientização dos Amigos da Floresta), thus legalizing their ayahuasca temple.
