Since spending time together in the studio, pioneering house producer Todd Terry and established duo Leftwing:Kody gear up for a punchy collaboration in the form of the Just Getting Warm EP set to release on Solardo’s Sola label.

Combining Todd Terry’s old school influence and sheer production wizardry along with Leftwing:Kody’s masterful craft and signature sound,  lead track Just Getting Warm is a smooth blend of rumbling basslines and piping synth breakdowns. Meanwhile, Never Forget accelerates into a grooving medley of fierce drums and diva vocals set to channel good vibes across the dancefloor. 

Needing little introduction, Todd Terry is one of the world’s most celebrated figures in dance music with almost two decades of dance floor domination under his belt. Known for producing underground smashes and chart hits, Todd Terry simultaneously became a club cool DJ and commercially accessible artist. Releasing on the likes of Strictly Rhythm, Toolroom, CR2 as well as more recent releases on his own imprints InHouse and vinyl only label Freeze Records, Todd Terry continues to be a hugely prominent name on the scene. 

Meanwhile Leftwing:Kody made their stamp back in 2012, with their debut EP bringing them immediate recognition and amplifying them as remarkable producers amongst their peers. Having received notable backing from the likes of Carl Cox, Jamie Jones, Maya Jane Coles and Loco Dice to name a few, the pair went on to launch their Lost Records label. Releasing on their own label as well as Solid Grooves, Kaluki, Toolroom, Desolat and more recently Truesoul earlier this year, it’s clear Leftwing:Kody show no signs of stopping as they continue to rise above the ranks.

Next up making his debut on Kaluki is ABODE resident, GW Harrison, with his ‘Get Loose EP’. Having established himself as a key player in the House and Tech House scene over the past couple of years with releases on reputable labels Sola, ABODE, Cr2 and Resonance, and performances at some of Dance music’s biggest parties including Elrow, Lovebox and We Are Fstvl, GW Harrison is definitely a name you need to know for 2019. Lead track ‘Get Loose’ kicks off the EP bringing that main room, party vibe with hooky vocals and swinging percussion. Completing the release is ‘Voodoo’, which offers the perfect blend of toe-tapping drums over an intricate bassline and crystal clear hats.

Last spotted jamming on Rejected with Michel de Hey in summer 2019, Rotterdam long-timer Boris Ross returns to Rejected with two more primetime devices.

'Hee' goes back to one of the oldest - and best - tricks in the house music book. Everything is built up around a simple but stately vocal sample that gives the track character and consistency as the nagging bass riff jig and jags in a funky angular style around it.

Meanwhile on 'Fake' our kid Ross unleashes his inner Norris Windross like an absolute boss. Bumping UK bass business with steamroller jacking beats and smoky spoken word vocals from Chicago Hustle, there are heavy nods to both UK garage and classically rooted house right here. A straight up club flattener that will complement any record you mix it with, DJ devices as explosive as this don't come around every day. In fact there ain't nothing 'Fake' about either of these tracks.

As always, expect nothing but real talk from Ross and Rejected.
