Samuele Scelfo, Davide T & Side B link up across two red-hot new tracks on Hottrax. 

Florence talent Samuele Scelfo returns for his third outing on Jamie Jones’ lauded Hottrax imprint, following a huge 2023 that saw him land on labels from Sola to Repopulate Mars, with his standout track ‘Playin Around’ on the latter picking up over 500,000 streams on Spotify. 

Scelfo joins forces with Side B, who is known for his edgy cuts on the likes of Mood Child and Of Unsound Mind, for the speaker-rattling 'Vibrate' - a ravey cut with a filthy bassline that drills down below crisp tech drums and Detroit-style synth stabs that will get hands in the air. 

On the digital flip, Scelfo links with Davide T, a budding producer from Milan with credits on Moxy Muzik, Snatch! and CUFF. Together they impress with 'Lollipop Kiss', a wonky club track with woodpecker-style synth loops that are heavily filtered next to wobbly low-end and low-slung drums.

The power behind 2022’s three-track ‘PauPau’ EP kicks into gear again on Clarisse to show who’s the hottest on the block right now. Aaron Martin equips clubs with fire extinguishers without ever telling arenas to cool off or to find shade in open spaces; Malaga’s most wanted, with Jamie Jones, Richie Hawtin and James Hype on his trail and with an ear for a shrewd club bootleg, gives directions to the ‘Hot Spot’ in question on a quest for five-star feedback.
 

‘Hot Spot’ pulls off a contrast of deep bass-sewn house, coming to the boil and zigzagging with patient percussion, and a pretty audacious hook swooping in and breathing fire, toughening the beats along the way. Warping the vocals of a 70s disco queen until they’re scorched under the spotlight, don’t be surprised if everyone in attendance goes the whole hog and starts singing the words back in a state of delighted undress.
 

From the ‘Hot Spot’ to the ‘Soundklub’, Martin switches venues, a run-and-gun routine with an acid-style melody ducking, diving and pushing towards the next level. The rat-a-tat revolutions tap into meticulously assembled machinery, and a headset vocal encourages Martin to give it all he’s got from city to city.
