Following stellar Sola Miami 2019 compilation release Laughs and Things already on Solardo’s imprint this year, Swiss talent Yvan Genkins makes his solo debut on the revered label with his Ying Ying EP. 

A hot riser amongst his peers on the scene, Yvan has been backed by DJ heavyweights including the likes of Luciano, Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola and Loco Dice whilst his collaborations with Mendo have seen him release on respected labels including Defected, Suara, Truesoul, Snatch!, 8 bit, Saved and many more. Meanwhile, his solo efforts have seen his originals grace the likes of Green Velvet’s Relief Records as well as Incorrect and now his adds Sola to his impressive slew of accolades.

Yvan’s latest release encapsulates the rising producer’s signature sound that he continues to hone, drawing on hypnotic bass, rolling grooves whilst combining old school traits with current tech house styles. Known for crossing every rhythmical realm possible, lead EP track Ying Ying features a captivating vocal hook powered by relentless loops and break downs that weave between each other flawlessly. Elsewhere, Work It Out steps into darker territories with mesmerizing synth patterns that flow amongst menacing whispers and grueling acid warps. With continued backing from the Solardo lads, Yvan Genkins’ fearless Ying Ying EP is sure to be a firm favourite across the dance circuit this summer not to mention the exciting Ying Ying remixes to follow in the coming months.
