"Roller Coaster Girl"  is one of the first songs I wrote.  It went through different stages and evolutions before finally landing on this version.  I began writing it when I was 16 years old.

When I was 16 years old, I was in love with a girl.  Her name was Stephanie Dixon.  She loved me very much too.  Stephanie Dixon was a drug addict... There's a lot to the story, but that's the gist of it.  It tore our relationship apart.  I don't know if you've been in love with a drug addict before, but It's horrible.  
Somedays she would be very loving to me... Other days, she would be very cruel.  I tried my best to save her... To help her, but anything I did, I was the enemy.

I remember one time she asked me, "Would you be happy if you only had me... And nothing else?"...

I replied that I had to have my guitar.   She said, "I could live with you and only you and nothing else!!!"

In my head I thought...   "Your drugs... your drugs..."

Stephanie Dixon died of a drug overdose at 34 years old.  Probably about 2 years before she died, I told her on facebook about this song... Roller Coaster Girl, that was really influenced by our relationship, and about her.  I didn't tell her about the pain she put me through and how I wrote the song out of sadness and anger for her drug abuse.
