Dark Matter

Solarplex is 21yr old Ryan Findlay and 22yr old Sam Cross, hailing from the highly cultural region of far northern NSW. After sculpting their style for several years, they have developed a unique sound, incorporating solid bottom end rhythms with lush, multi-layered soundscapes. Setting themselves amongst other examples of well thought out, emotionally expansive electronic music producers, SolarPlex will lead you into a deep abyss of thought & feeling,while simultaneously bathing you in vibrant energy. 

Both writing music for 5+ years now, the boys originally started their career off with another project called SYS, focusing on full on melodic style 'morning psytrance'. After recieving acclaim both locally and nationally they decided to start a side project under the name SolarPlex, focusing more on the ambient textures and soundscapes of the progressive style of trance which has been hitting Australias shores with a vengeance. Since starting their side project in early 2009 it has become full center of their writing ambitions, releasing their first track on Regen Records compilation "Regeneration" along with artists such as Terrafractal, Psyboriginal and Hedonix - as well as playing both locally and nationally to diverse crowds, receiving acclaim where they go (including parties like Cairns Winter Solstice, Mardi Grass, EarthDance and Southern Oracle, just to name a few). Recently signing up with young east coast label 3l3mental records, run by Brodie Gibbon a.k.a Multiverse/G-Funk and Cairns based Twizted Lotus Records, look out for future releases from the boys on these fresh, up and coming labels.
