According to both her equipment and her weapon, Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower was a citizen of Cainhurst and is a distant relative to Queen Annalise. She was also one of the first hunters to join the nightly hunt. She studied under Gehrman, the First Hunter, whom Maria had admired, unknowing of his curious mania towards her. Despite being a citizen of Cainhurst, where they relished in extravagant uses of blood, she favored her Rakuyo, which instead required dexterity and skill rather to wield effectively.

At some point during her time as a hunter, Maria partook in the excursion by Byrgenwerth scholars to the Fishing Hamlet, having learned of the mutations the villagers had undergone in the presence of Kos, a Great One whose corpse had washed ashore near the village. The mission would take its toll on Maria's morals, as she, alongside the scholars and other hunters, had participated in the hunting and mutilation of the villagers, and the violation of Kos's body.

It is unclear what exactly Maria and the other old hunters did to Kos's body, but it can be inferred it was done to harvest the Great One's eldritch blood. Nonetheless, it was a sacrilegious action for which Maria and the other old hunters involved would suffer for eternally as they became imprisoned in the Hunter's Nightmare. At some point, likely out of guilt for her actions at the Fishing Hamlet, Maria forfeited her beloved Rakuyo, tossing it down a well when she could "no longer stomach it", supposedly killing herself as well. Her spirit was then pulled into the Hunter's Nightmare.

Even after she disappeared, Gehrman remained obsessed with her. To keep himself company, Gehrman created a Doll to Maria's likeness, faithful to the latter's appearance down to her tall height and facial features. However, Gehrman grew to be indifferent towards the Doll, likely due to her lacking Maria's personality.

In the heart of a medieval kingdom, shrouded by ancient woods and rolling hills, there lay a forest known for its mystical aura and serene beauty. This forest, called Bansuri Forest by the locals, was a place where time seemed to pause and the worries of the world melted away.

Within this enchanting woodland, Princess Aislin often sought refuge. The kingdom she belonged to was vast and prosperous, but it was also plagued by conflicts and unrest. Aislin, with her compassionate heart and wise mind, believed that peace could be found through harmony and understanding rather than force.

One crisp morning, as the first light of dawn filtered through the dense canopy, Princess Aislin ventured into the depths of Bansuri Forest. Clad in a simple, flowing gown that allowed her to move freely, she carried with her a cherished instrument: a bansuri flute, gifted to her by a wandering sage. This flute, with its delicate carvings and pure tone, was her constant companion.

Finding her favorite spot by a tranquil stream, Aislin settled onto a moss-covered rock. The stream’s gentle babble harmonized with the forest's natural symphony, creating a perfect backdrop for her music. She lifted the bansuri to her lips, and a soft, melodic tune began to flow, blending seamlessly with the relaxed piano notes that echoed in her mind.

The music, titled "Bansuri Forest," was a piece she had composed herself. Each note was intended to mirror the tranquility of the forest and the promise of peace. As she played, the hauntingly beautiful sound of the flute intertwined with the soothing piano, creating an atmosphere of profound calm.

Aislin's music carried through the trees, reaching the ears of all who wandered near. Villagers, soldiers, and even animals paused to listen, their hearts touched by the serene melody. The forest seemed to breathe with her music, the leaves rustling in time with the rhythm, and the birds joining in with harmonious chirps.

Legend began to spread throughout the kingdom: whenever Princess Aislin played her bansuri in Bansuri Forest, the land itself seemed to respond. Conflicts would cease, tempers would cool, and a sense of peace would blanket the area. It was said that her music had the power to heal and to unify, bringing hope to all who heard it.

Princess Aislin’s belief in the power of harmony extended beyond her music. She used her influence to foster understanding and dialogue, inspired by the unity she felt in the forest. The kingdom, once troubled, slowly began to find its way to a lasting peace.

And so, "Bansuri Forest" became more than just a melody; it became a symbol of hope and a reminder that peace, like music, could bridge divides and soothe even the most troubled hearts. Princess Aislin’s legacy lived on, a testament to the power of art and the enduring spirit of harmony.
