Sola Shittu, popularly known as Oshara is a music and media prodigy who hails from Ekiti state, west of Nigeria. He has a shared background from several parts of the south-western Nigeria and partly in the south-south, Port-Harcourt precisely. Sola Shittu is a musician, song-writer, singer, rapper, producer, recording and performing artiste, and a media practitioner. He is essentially an artiste with an undying passion to communicate a sound of hope to the everyday people on the street. Music for him has always been the core of his existence, dating back into childhood as much as he could remember. He revisited his childhood, narrating his experience of being the most creative child musician in his community when he was about 5 years old, the drummer boy of his children Sunday school when he was 7, one of the best vocalists and flutists in his primary school, the pioneer drummer of a mega church when he was 11 and many more. Vividly, he recounts the aura of being the most fun-filled and creative student with a sonorous male voice all the way through secondary school, with the honour of leading the choir in chapel and in ‘gyration’ music sessions during social activities.
In his journey to self-discovery, SMS has had it cool with quite a number of several artistic things like acting, standup comedy, compere, event-planning and dancing. With sense of purpose, he concluded that music for him appears the most potent channel to really express his heart and vision to the world. Over the last decade and half, he started taking song-writing and performance seriously, acquiring relevant education both formally and informally.
