Alex H - Chiredzi (Original Mix) [SUNMEL016]

Here at Perplexity Music, we our extremely proud to introduce our first release on the label after months of waiting. As our aim is to become the pinnacle of melodic progressive house music, what better way than to start it of with a tremendous 4 track EP from the sensational Alex H. The Perth based producer has been climbing up the progressive ladder since 2012 & his remarkable talent can be heard instantly so take a moment to revel in the delight that is music for the soul. 

The first release of the EP, "No Turning Back" is a delectable vocal masterpiece that locks into the core of our emotions & expands in our minds. Comprised  up of tantalizing chords that emit solid & crisp sounds, steady kicks & brilliant melodies, the overall atmosphere is one that is vibrant & striking. The soothing warm vocals provided by Mona Moua blend perfectly with the flow of the production & the deliverance of the thought provoking lyrics are conveyed so beautifully.

Next up in this quality package is another out of this world collaboration & again, with another master of melodies that is Netherland sensation Roald Velden. Also having worked together previously, more prominently on Roald's album, the blend of these talents has earned a great following due to the pure emotion & the top notch effort & time they put into their productions. Prepare to delve into a journey of warm, blissful & magical textures that swoop right in the moment you press play. That's right, it really is that astounding.  With the colorful combination of the melodic elements, the superb heart felt sounds flow freely in a mix up relaxed percussion work & sweet piano lines once again. 

Last but not least is a huge collaboration with the gifted French talent James Woods so you know you’re in for a dynamic experience with "Atitlan". Having worked on the smashing release "Guadalupe" earlier this year, the outcome of what these two producers create is an explosion of luscious sound & this time is no different. Keeping with the gorgeous melody arrangements, the signature sounds of both can be heard so remarkably such as the luring piano lines pressed side by side powerful chord progressions. Add in the subtle female harmonized vocals that tie the production together & you have this easy on the ears, laid back production. 

As well as the 3 magnificent productions,  "No Turning Back" also has a dub version which is the last release on the EP & this is for those that want to create their own moving story in the minds & with the melodic elements like more evident, that'll be easy to get lost into. 
This is just an small insight as to what to expect from us so we hope you'll stick around and support us through the exciting times ahead. We’ve gone back through the time capsule here at sunsetmelodies and found one of our favourite tracks of all time, Alex H’s ‘Blood Moon’. With four incredible remixes ready to ignite your fire and bring you a revamp of our early origins sun-scathed and sunlit.

Up first on remix duties is none other than Latvian powerhouse duo Blood Groove & Kikis. Bringing their own flare and uniqueness to ‘Blood Moon’, their agenda was clear; to personify a star-lit flow that will have you deeply immersed in the journey. 

Next up is kalsy’s melodic, progressive remix of ‘Blood Moon’ that is simply stunning. Peaceful vibes flow right through the tracks entirety keeping you calm and meditative throughout. Let your mind be taken away on the lush journey ahead of you.

Japanese producer Yasuha. is an emerging star. His remix is a breathtakingly, beautiful rendition. Subtle and heart-felt, this here is a tune to let go of your inhibitions and take on a greater world. Breathe in the good and evoke all that is bliss. 

Keith Harris is a name that you can’t forget – he brings home the ‘Blood Moon’ remixes with his hypnotic and daydream-like sound flowing right through your entirety. His soulful and enriching tones compliment so well with the melodic progression of ‘Blood Moon’, it is truly honest and eye opening.

After falling in love with last month's release of Retinal Pathology, we're excited to bring you more of Enviado Vida. A prerequisite to a summer full of melodic deep house, "Equilibrium Law" perfectly sets the tone of warmer days to come. 

As the release title implies, "Equilibrium Law" graciously balances us between a state of wonder and peace. Floating among the keys, we're continuously submerged with bass, invoking a complex appreciation that can't be fully understood by words. With the energy carrying over, "People Never Change" blends itself with gentle chord progressions and soft hi-hats, eventually falling into a bed of ambience only to be awoken once more. An array of ambience with a hint of momentum, "Caffeine" unwinds the mind in a syncopated calmness of reverberated percussions and piano progressions, allowing the necessary space to experience and appreciate the expansiveness of subtlety.

Label veteran eleven.five, whose extraordinary "When People Become Numbers" artist album graced our imprint last year, is back with an eclectic and innovative new five-track EP, entitled "The State I'm In."

In "Mish," we witness hypnotizing arpeggios and gentle lead melodies, while a strong groove provides brilliant texture underneath. 

"Last Night" takes off with an intriguing atmosphere, with captivating percussion variations and soothing pad layers. Strong bassline notes take over shortly thereafter, and subtle, yet delightful light leads lighten up the soundscape as the song progresses.

The title track, "The State I'm In," begins with an enjoyable piano line, which is later replaced by frisky percussion layers, captivating vocal effects, and refreshing background effects.

A tranquil beat introduces "In The Midst Of Turmoil (Comes Peace)," as well as subtle, yet quite intriguing bassline notes and fascinating synth stabs. As the song progresses, numerous new melodies are added, all of which contribute to the already delightful atmosphere.

"Acamar" -- a collaboration with Sundrowner -- rounds out the release. Once again we witness stunning percussion work, and various piano melodies and a floating lead melody truly spice up the soundscape.
