Having established itself with EPs from Duke Slammer and DMX Krew, Dublin's Modern Magic welcomes Bari's Armonics for the label's third release.  A trained pianist and resident DJ/curator of the We Talk event series in his home city, Armonics draws influence from electronic music across the past 40 years: Chicago & acid house, italo- & electro-disco, new wave, synth-pop and vaporwave. 

His 'Italowave' style is a fusion of these retro-futuristic and cosmic styles, forged through Armonic's production processes which include cassette recordings, vintage synths & modern Korg/Roland gear.  The 'Look Alive' EP is the producer's second release, following a debut on Slow Motion in late 2016.

Accompanying the EP's three original tracks is an anthemic, piano-led remix of 'Red Eye' by International Feel act Black Spuma, aka Lauer (Tuff City KIds/Arto Mwambe) and Fabrizio Mammarella (Telespazio).

Fewer things get us more excited than a Credit 00 track to Premiere, after the beasts that was the Metal Box EP his own Rat Life Records or Game Over LP on Uncanny Valley, he's back, this time on Bordello a Parigi with a killer, and it's fair to say with his latest offering that Big Beat is back!  Credit 00 is on form, on fire and on top of his game. 
Bordello a Parigi have a hit on their hand as they release Cruisin' which could easily be a lost Chemical Brothers B side from the early 90s. Coming on like a forgotten Ibiza classic buried in the bottom of your record box just begging to be remembered. 
Cruisin' evokes that 90s sound, whether it reminds you of Madchester, Cafe Mambo or the Conchord in Brighton, it's an absolute must hear from a quality artist on a quality label.

DSB’s first release consists of a diskomiks by Prins Thomas and two house tracks by Perdu. The Diskomiks has already reached a legendary status in Belgium since it’s free promotional download for Petrol’s summer club in 2013. Getting regular plays by more than a handful of respected DJ’s in the Belgian scene. Even Norse top-producer and DJ, Todd Terje, gave it a spin while closing the Castello at Pukkelpop 2018. It is a track that gives you the summer jitters, and makes you reminisce about those lovely days at the beach.

The B side is completed by promising Amsterdam producer Perdu. First track ‘Tribal Voices’ is a South African bubblegum edit from 1985 track ‘Nhamba Dance’ by ‘The Winners’. The vocals are re-recorded by original producer Selwyn Shandell and authentic African singers. The track has very strong percussive elements, a groovy bassline that makes you want to dance and funky synth lines to complete the whole thing. Second track ‘Yesterday’s Tomorrow’ is one to be played in the clubs. The track starts with a stomping beat and gradually opens up to an oasis of sounds. While adding layer after layer you get absorbed in the atmosphere like you’re in the jungle.

Following releases on Moshi Moshi and Phantasy, the Dalston Superstore favourites’ three-track EP ‘Excess‘ has just come out via new, queer-focused label 51-53. Named after the Stonewall’s Inn address in New York, the imprint specialises in “the grittier side of electronic music. House, techno and everything in between”. ‘Excess’ is an ode to London’s queer rave scene and the genre-less nature of the UK club scene right now, pitting in-vogue breakbeats next to UK funky bounce and rhythmic bass stabs. Kicking off Pride month with the EP, Jerome Slesinski and Jon Arnold are also helming the latest Dummy Mix, an exuberant ride through some of the best electronic music made by queer producers on the club landscape. “To celebrate the first release on 51-53 and of course Pride, we thought it’d be good to do this mix with all queer artists,” Super Drama say. “We play this stuff out all the time so we had a lot of material to choose from. There are so many artists doing really exciting things that nod to the past and aim for the future. From Shaun J.
