All of the sounds were pulled from various Cymatics Packs, except for the bass, fill guitar, Rhodes, and Moog lead. The main guitar melody came from the Origami groove of the Journey Pack, thus the title.

These past few years have been unlike any other.  The unique collection of traumas and uncertainties have caused many of us to rethink reality. Now, more than ever, we are looking for new ways to translate to more pleasant places. Music has always been the most universal conveyance for the soul. Solex’s 9th album release entitled “Take Me There”, allows you to go where you want to without ever leaving your physical station. Spanish inspired “Sexy Cabo” begins the journey with gospel, R&B, smooth soul, funk, and contemporary jazz influences sprinkled throughout. One of my favorite vocalist, Antonio McLendon christens the composition “My Soul” with soul and I have No Regrets!

I wish I could share with you some deep revelation as to the reason I chose to title this album “TEN”, but I only have 2 pratical ones. The first one is simple enough. I remember back in the day when the Library of Congress only charged $35 to copyright a song and if you batched them together, you could copyright an unlimited number of songs under that group registration title for the same $35. However, times...they are a changin’. That is no longer the case. You can now only group register a batch of 10 songs at one time. And the cost to do that has risen to $85! Needless to say, my 15 to 17 song albums are a thing of the past unless otherwise instructed. The second reason I called the album “10” is because it is my tenth album...Duh! Please accept my humble and grateful “Thank You” to all of you who have been my support throughout this musical journey. I pray that you will find peace, joy and rest in this project. OneLuv!

Riding in my car is very therapeutic for me. Actually, riding in my car has been my drug of choice for quite some time now. Getting in my car by myself with music playing on a long, quiet road serves as my prayer room, think tank, release valve, and place of solace. Many songs were created there. Many problems solved there. Many new ideas birthed there. Oh man, and don’t let me drop the top on a warm autumn afternoon. Many priceless memories have been created there!

It has been said that life is no smooth ride and I must wholeheartedly concur. This is why anytime you can experience a smooth ride, whether organically or manufactured...TAKE IT!

Full Moon is the eighth and most exuberant project to date for Solex. This is a very strong and exciting album beginning with “Flying High”, co-written by Jonathan DuBose, Jr. "Full Moon" is a first single favorite with "It Won't Last", co-written by Tony (T•Mac) McLendon as a must-play being very relevant for our current times! This project has a variety of mood songs for diverse tastes with help from additional artists, bassist Asa Livingston, and saxophonist, Jason Gay.
