Jon Rundell releases his new EP ‘Warped’ on Intec.

An artist who is deeply rooted within techno’s landscape, Rundell continues to advance his sound with each release, constantly experimenting and evolving whilst still maintaining the groove and swing that has been part of him since his discovery of music. That groove is a trademark of each cut he creates to draw you to the dancefloor.

The title track, which is our Debut Transmission today, is 'Warped' a peak-time perfection from its crescendo of hi-hats to its epic breakdown.  he says ‘With this EP I tried to represent different sides of techno to develop and evolve my style a bit more with each track,’ Jon says. Warped is a full-on heads down track that maintains some old school influence with its rave stab, and ‘Mind’ is more of a drum machine workout keeping the funk driving along with the melody. I’ve been having a lot of fun with them out there in the clubs and festivals and I hope you do too!

‘Warped’ will be released on Intec on 19th September.

Hot on the heels of his barnstorming remix for The Reactivitz, Joe Blake is right back where he belongs: Front and center on Respekt with a brand new EP.
'Code of Covenance' kicks things off with Joe's trademark dark atmospheres and detailed sound design, pairing edge-of-your-seat tension with serious dancefloor potential.
Next up is the melodically tinged 'You Are No Longer Alone', following the same MO as the lead track, but with a more introspective vibe. At this point, label cohort Gary Burrows jumps in to deliver a banging, raved up as only he knows how.

Hard as nails techno coming from Rotterdam, a city that houses no surprises in that particular corner of tough electronic. Death Field EP is a cold one, and distortion the rule rather than the exception. After previously having made a remix for SDB, AERT returns to Märked with a swing around your ears and a kick in the nuts.


Start the EP with clattering breakbeat pounding, shrill horns and chunks of laser drops in Obliterated Homicide. A sense of industrial machines at work is present in each of AERT’s tracks.

Deal With Your Problems keeps the industrial character, but here four to the floor is introduced, rushing with charged low-mid bass notes playing in between the hits of the kick. The metal and tough snares add to the eerie atmosphere to make it sound like a sonic punishment.

Let The Body’s Hit The floor could be played as slowed-down hardcore, but with more control and space. Threatening synths from the start and flaming percussion  is then later introduced.

Ready to burn stuff with Ike Dusk on the remix game. Underneath the kick there’s a nasty bass line clearly present, buried in heaps of sharpened percussion. Never a dull moment when Ike brings the shovels and spades.

Catching breath with Chêne’s remix of Obliterated Homicide as a perfect cool-down to the EP. Whereas the original version doesn’t necessarily have any melodic content but just straight on stabs and bleeps, Chêne introduces a catchy hypnotic, trance-inducing melody.

Rekids serves up more scintillating techno this autumn with scene mainstay Marco Faraone making his return.

The Italian artist has long been releasing on the biggest labels of the day, whether that’s Drumcode and Ovum, or his own label UNCAGE. Often favouring big, powerful tracks distilled to their essence, Faraone is never far from a headline set at the world’s leading festivals, clubs and is considered as a core part of the modern techno landscape.

Big, cantering drums define opener ‘Don’t Need You’, the track’s title is repeated over and over like a mind melting mantra and you cannot fail to fall under its spell. The epic ‘Hardgroove Community’ follows with a wall of techno drum programming that will blow away even the largest crowds: razor sharp hi-hats, super charged bass and fist pumping vocal stabs are all effectively deployed to make this one pop.

On the flip ‘Survive’ is a darker cut with sleek and futuristic synths depicting some derelict urbanwasteland. Finally, ‘Not A Crime’ layers up dusty breakbeats and rattling dub chords with big female yelps into something all-consuming and brilliantly rib rattling.
