Now in full swing, PAWSA & Michael Bibi’s Solid Grooves label introduces its third release from Kuo Climax, plus a remix from Okain.

Evolving from one of London’s most popular event series into a burgeoning record label earlier this year, Solid Grooves’ inaugural releases have come from Spanish producer Wade and label founder PAWSA. Kuo Climax is the next talent to arrive on the roster - a producer born in Malaga who’s already released on established imprints such as VIVa, Avotre, Knee Deep In Sound and Innocent Music.

‘Badboy’ begins with thudding kicks and echoing snares as various idiosyncratic effects come and go. ‘Jump’ then sees a spike in tempo as shuffling hats and suspenseful drum rolls work together to generate copious energy, before the rhythmic ‘Work’ delivers a percussive workout with plenty of groove. French producer Okain, known for his releases on TrueSoul, Gruuv and Tsuba, then delivers a low-slung rendition of ‘Badboy’ with a throbbing bassline and cavernous breakdowns.

Solid Grooves co-founder Michael Bibi debuts on the label with three techy rollers including a remix from Dutch producer ONNO.

Having established itself as one of the UK’s most consistent event series, Solid Grooves has continued to prosper since forming as a record label, with early releases from the likes of Wade, Kuo Climax and co-founder PAWSA. London’s Michael Bibi, who founded the imprint alongside PAWSA, has earned his stripes as a producer over the last year, dropping recent releases on MadTech, Electronique and Lost Records. 

Percussive and rhythmic, ‘Restoration’ initiates the package with rolling drums and a soft purring bassline, before ‘Excuse You’ delivers thudding kicks, metallic snares and a rumbling low-end suited for the peaktime. 

‘Standing Near’ is then a bouncy production with an infectious vocal and arcane atmospherics, making for the trippiest original of the package. 

Known for his releases on the likes of Truesoul, VIVa and Moon Harbour, ONNO ties up the release with a formidable remix featuring undulating percussion, dusky effects and a distorted vocal sample.

ONNO pairs up with Reelow for a pair of cavernous cuts with Solid Grooves founder PAWSA providing a remix.

Releasing on Moon Harbour, Saved and VIVa, not to mention playing residencies at Ushuaia and Amsterdam’s Studio 80, ONNO has earned his stripes as a reputable producer and DJ over the past decade. Meanwhile, Hungarian-born Barcelona-based artist Reelow’s steady rise has been enviable, appearing on Time Has Changed, Moan and Serkal, whilst garnering support from Carola, Beyer, Capriati and Loco Dice to name a few. Collaborating for the first time, this pairing is an exciting follow up to Solid Grooves’ Beatport dominating ‘See Line EP’ from Dennis Cruz.

A percussive workout from the get-go, ‘Don’t Stop’ sets out to shake dancefloors and it does so with a rumbling low-end, subtle vocal and twisted effects. ‘University Of Street’ then delivers an infectious snare while shuffling hats and mesmerising chords work their magic. Tying it together, PAWSA, known for his releases on Green Velvet’s Relief Records and Nicole Moudaber’s MOOD Records, rolls out the bass whilst emphasising the vocal in a lively rendition of ‘Don’t Stop’.

Dusty Grooves is back in the new year with one of their biggest release to dates! With releases on Toolroom Records, Simma Black, Monotonik and more, we had to get under_score on the label eventually. It's been a great year for under_score and we know that it will be a big year for him in 2018. On Dusty Grooves, he brings us the My History EP including two massive tech house tracks that are sure to do a lot of damage on the dancefloors. Backing under_score on this release is one of our favourite artists of the moment, Mad Villains. Mad Villains is another name that is going to be everywhere in 2018 and with this remix, you will see why. To round off the EP, we have Titan Road, who after releases on Nervous, Nonstop, Cr2 Records and more, we knew he would be the perfect artist for this release. We hope you enjoy the promo!
