Distinctions journey runs parallel with the rise of the UK’s underground music culture. Emerging in the early 2000s, he became part of the movement that helped define Dubstep’s formative years, performing at iconic nights such as FWD at Plastic People and DMZ at 3rd Base and having released music on Caspa’s Dub Police label. These were bonafide spaces & imprints that gave birth to the sounds that would carry Dubstep from the UK to global recognition.

With over two decades of music knowledge under his belt, Distinction has earned a reputation as a true custodian of the sound. His vinyl collection, which began in the late 1990s, now serves as the foundation for his role as an archivist, sharing rare tracks and forgotten classics through Social Media. Showcasing the formative years of Dubstep, Grime, and UK Garage he honours a history that continues to inspire a new generation, while reigniting memories for those who lived it the first time around.

This mix is a journey through the spectrum of Dubstep and its influencing sounds, intertwining together the old and the new, the released and the unreleased as well as the familiar and the unheard. It’s a showcase of roots and progression that represents where the sound has been and where it continues to go.
