"Turbo Island is my happy place. Everything is colourful. But behind the big yellow grin lies a confusing relationship with music. I only ever really really really fall for music that could (possibly) be made by people that are (perhaps) a bit LIKE ME. I have to be able to vaguely imagine myself and old school friends playing all the instruments (I don’t know how to play any instruments). 

This has often limited my absolute enjoyment to lo-fi, self-taught, English speaking, sloppy, nonsensical, awkward stuff. When I hear phrases in the wild like “great production” and “fantastic voice”, I shrug. I struggle to relate to those things. They're out of my reach. So I’ve tried to be myself with this mix. These are akin to the voices in my head, sometimes they are annoying but sometimes they are warm and inviting.

There's a few songs about Jesus in there too (I have no explanation for this)."

About the CD:
This out of all my mix CD's will likely bring back the most clubbing memories for the majority of my friends. It's hands down one of the greatest mix CD's of all time, a double pack of Sasha at his absolute peak, he was untouchable, worshipped like no other and unrivalled around the 1996-2000 era in the majority of opinions. It defined a period of clubbing that had 50 Sunderland dance heads on a bus filling up half of the main room at Sasha's, Craig Richard's and Lee Burridge's 'Tyrant' night, at the Bomb in Nottingham. Which still holds strong as the best clubbing experience for most of us. It was legendary times, and this is a legendary mix CD.

Peach's DJ bio simply reads: "Ball of energy." And that's exactly what she brings each and every time. The Toronto-born, London-based DJ has made high impact, thrillingly eclectic sets an art form in the last few years having first started to turn heads with her brilliantly broad radio shows on NTS. Her dynamism also carries over into the music she has produced for labels like Midland's Intergraded and Shanti Celeste and Gramrcy's Peach Discs. 

Peach's signature passionate style runs all the way through this week's mix. From the flurry of jungle breakbeats that open it up to the prickly bass, frenetic club rhythms and euphoric rave of the midpoint, it's an unrelenting ride. The second half becomes more spaced out, with roomier cuts and hypnotic grooves carrying you through the night and into the next morning.
