Teller - Make Me Hate U (Solmare Remix)

Wrote this track for the Dirtywave Discord Jam 010, "HYPERDRIVE". I decided to use more of my music gear as I've been almost exclusively writing everything inside the M8 for about a solid year. Here I am taking the MIDI OUT from the M8 into a Retrokits RK-006, and having that push the MIDI out to a second M8 for a few tracks of synth ear candy, a Teenage Engineering OP-1 Field for some synths keys, a Hydrasynth for the arps you are hearing, and sending all the audio into a TX-6 for compression/EQ/boost. A few of the tracks are being routed into a Moog MF-104M for the analog delay and slight modulation.

“Sparkles” Remix for the contest with @carrtoonsmusic  x @badsnacks  x @makelayers  ! Turned their funky jam into something more hectic. I used two @dirtywavemusic M8 trackers syncing with a @teenageengineering OP-1 Field and a @ashunsoundmachines Hydrasynth. Put an @weareelektron Analog Heat in the effects loop of a TX-6 mixer and recorded it into my TP-7. This was fun, hope you dig it 😎

Re-recorded all of the stems and left out the analog delay that was causing some phasing/time issues, and lowered the compression/volume so it doesn't blow out your ears/speakers!! Prior versions were just the stereo mix from my hardware, which didn't allow for much flexibility in post for mixing. Trying my best to mix in Ableton 11 but I need a lot of schooling in regards to mixing and compression, if anyone has any suggestions feel free to throw them my way!

Wrote this at 174bpm but it felt way too fast, slowed it by -3 semitones in Ableton and it felt better. I've had this lead melody in my head for over a decade, finally decided to try to write a song around it. Needs some work. Written entirely on a Dirtywave M8, put through an Analog Heat +FX for compression/distortion/filter/boost/reverb.
