Uproar (Dust)

I signed up for Ruby Chase's eclectic three-month music program..... she was one of the inspirations that made me think creating music was possible. Even more so, it was the idea of having to be accountable to a group that was such an attraction. One song a week— and after three weeks, you pick one to push to production. 

This assignment was due today— "create a song inspired by butterflies". I'm really stoked with how this came out. Vocals are original, almost everything else is a sample. There are bits of five languages in here— four real ones and one that sounds like it could be a beautiful African chant, but is actually just a clip reversed.

Most of the sounds you hear are actually a sansula kalimba, which is my fave, most portable sound meditation toy. Here simple kalimba melodies interplay with a variety of ambient drones created out of those same notes. With guest appearances of Tibetan bowls, Tingshes and californian wildflowers (that tickle your brain).
