This is the long lost Volume 1 to the cult classic Trap Door series.  And as far as I know, it was only available on cassette and there is no further information online. This is 60 minutes of Psych, Prog, Avant-Garde, Free Jazz, Private Press and Just Plain weird all along appealing to beatheads! Solid Steel (29th July) DK returns to Solid Steel for a full 2 hr session and a round up of releases from the first half of 2016, including the current crop from the Ninja Tune family of labels and as always a dip into the vaults. The haunting sounds of Le Mystere des Voix Bulgares open the show followed by Bwana with the first of 3 tracks from the Aus 100 comp, Four Tet with his insanely long titled track, Kaytranada, Seven Davis Jr and classic Carl Craig in the form of the Paperclip People. Technicolour is represented by NY AK, Florian Kupfer and Hieroglyphic Being, with a track from his forthcoming album 'The Disco's Of Imhotep'. Roots Manuva heads up the Big Dada selection with remixes by Kode9 and Champion from the 'Bleeds' Deluxe version, Jameszoo flies the flag for Brainfeeder, whilst more Ninja Tune releases come via Machine Drum, Space Dimension Controller, The Bug, Sarathy Korwar and The Invisible remixed by Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith. Music from Pearson Sound, Trim , Cid Rim on remix duties, Danny Brown, Lone and Rival Consoles keep the tempo high in Hour 1, with a more sedate second hour courtesy of BADBADNOTGOOD, Medlar remixing Kon, Radiohead, James Heather, Mark Pritchard and Ben Lukas Boysen on Erased Tapes, plus timeless gems by Cassiano, Empress, Vance & Suzanne and Arthur Verocai.

Solid Steel (5th January) In Hour 1 we welcome Tee Mango, the alter ego of Millionhands head honcho Tom Mangan. Tee releases records on his own Millionhands imprint, as well as on AUS, Clone Royal Oak & Local Talk. His first album IMPERFECTIONS VOL. 1 - made several end of year lists in 2016 and a cracking remix of The Invisible ft Connan Mockasin followed. His follow up album is in the works with more samples and a host of live instrumentation, and even some vocals from Tee himself. He told us;
"This mix was recorded live on CDJs and a trusty old 1210 in one take. My goal was to make something that i could happily listen to in a few years and still enjoy. Selfish, but true :) I've included records that make me smile, as opposed to make me look cool. There's a few new things and a selection of old goodies in there too. The mixing is not faultless, but that's OK i think. Hope you like it."

This isn’t meant to be comprehensive, chronological, going particularly ‘deep' or even inclusive. Just some killer tunes and personal favourites. For every one included I left out a bunch, so if anyone wants a Volume 2, speak up.
 
Through all this present day nonsense and shittery, it’s wise to remember tough times produce great tunes and the best art.

1) Tell us a bit about yourself and your record collection.

Preddy my name or Herr Preddy or Preddy Tendergrass. Since my parents bought me in my early childhood some K-Tel and Arcade Comps records complete hits my soul. From Rock to New Wave to No Wave to early Rap to Electronics to Ska to Soul to Disco to House to Jazz to Bossa Nova to Dancehall to Rocksteady to Folk to nearly everything that catch my attention is in my collection. Starting to spin beginning of the 1990s at legendary BeatBox Club in Wuppertal, worked long time for Groove Attack Record Shop & Distribution to finally be on my own Deejaywise, with my Label personal rec., as a Radio Host with my Show Rare & Well Done for Radio Superfly in Vienna and doin sometimes some productions with DJ Buzz from the Waxolutionists. 

2) 45/7 is all about celebrating the 7". Can you tell us a bit about 

what you love about the format.
Always in love with the small ones. In my youth it was the Format if you couldn't afford with your pocket money the big ones. The love for the 45s stayed and later on it started to be the main medium for sounds like Funk, Soul, Reggae etc. Then people around started to turn digital because of backproblems or fed up of carring tons of Vinyl around i decided to spin and travel more and more with my small Avonberatercase. Same result and more fun. And for the DJ-side: the small ones can be bitchy as hell, hard to handle but this only multiply the fun if you get them in control.....

3) One hour of vinyl goodness... can you talk us through your
selection for your 45/7 mix?

This mix is like a shortened Clubnight. I like to warm up with slow and moody tunes, turn the level more up, let it collapse, boiling it up again and ending with something or obscure. First record is very important, the rest follows istinctly. 
  
4) Where can people catch you / listen to your music?

I dunno have a residency. Back and forth all the time. In Vienna at the Dachboden/25 Hours Hotel, Heuer am Karlsplatz, Kleinod Stadtgarten, or you can catch me at Blockpartys like Zweitbester Strassenfest, Events like Liquid Market, Future Prop Tech, Vienna Flatland Jam,...otherwise in Bukarest, Cologne, Zürich, Madrid, Istanbul etc.
