Sailor & I are back with their latest productions for Life and Death. The two original tracks, while very different in moods, both share lush productions and a dramatic musical storytelling not often found in a typical dance release. While Boys & Girls offers a slowed-down mournful and yet beautiful nostalgic tale of childhood days gone by, Turn Around comes straight out of the gate like a racehorse on fire, flanked by strong strings and a vocal that pleads a case for love that comes straight from the heart. 

And of course rounding out the release is arguably one of the most anticipated tracks of the summer. Ever since it first started falling on people’s ears earlier this year, the Âme remix of “Turn Around” has been the high point of sets by Tale of Us, Dixon, Mano Le Tough as well as the few select others that have had their hands on it up until this point. It’s been giving goosebumps to club goers everywhere and with good reason — this is Âme at their finest, taking the song and extending it into an epic masterpiece that works wonders on a dancefloor while never losing the bewitching essence of the original.

The efforts of Hayze on Noir Music have been very fruitful so far. Mesmerizing hits like “Around” and “Angel”, were both brought into this world in collaboration with the label’s head honcho Noir. Being no stranger to the label, time has come for a debut solo release by Hayze.

Everyone, sooner or later, experiences a life-changing moment. Some of these moments have a modest impact; other moments change your whole perspective on things. These are the points in life that make a difference. Overthrowing and surviving a life-threatening disease made Haze change his name to Hayze, by advice from his father. Same guy, same heart, same talent, but a different identity ready for the next chapter. Making “Brighter Days” not only his first solo project after his turning point, but an important and meaningful release for many more reasons.

“Brighter Days” comes from a true place in my heart as with all my records. It’s about finding light in the dark times; about hope, having faith in music and realizing the power of dance…

The original mix is deep with a lush synth riff as its main hook, laced over a phat rolling bass line underneath a bed of beats that have little nuances of effects and subtle percussion that come in and out without it feeling repetitive. The vocals are classic Hayze, deep, meaningful and melodic with hints of melancholy.

UK star Huxley shines on remix duties for this one. Taking elements from the original synth riff, he manages to capture a whole different vibe with the record, with strings and pianos complementing an uplifting dramatic breakdown coming straight into a garage style bass line that is vibrant and fresh overall with head nodding beats. It’s one to watch out for.

Really touched by all the support we've been receiving from everyone and so, so appreciative of it all. It's only been a short time we've been writing this story together but just the fact that doing the music we feel in our hearts manages to connect with so many other people is gratifying beyond words.
While this is certainly only the end of a chapter and the beginning of a much longer story, it's important for us to take a moment and take note of the things that matter. Beyond polls and numbers (which are transitory as all in life is) it's the downright love we've felt from so many that has truly left a lasting mark on us both.
So as a little token of thanks we're offering a free download of our unreleased Straight To Your Head remix which many people have been asking us about this past year.
It feels like a nice way to close this chapter as we begin to start the next.

Jaded’s high priest is Raymundo Rodriguez. From his sets, you can expect a passion for new and obscure music, a disregard for conventions, a playful teasing of energy and mood, moments of complete immersion and an impeccable mixing style. A cult hero to many Londoners, Jaded’s most popular mornings are those where he elects to play a rare 5 hours in the Cable's main room.

Originally founded by Raymundo's partner in crime Krista, Jaded is London’s beloved after hours movement and spawned from a yearning for an early morning escape for DJs and club workers alike. Appearing every Sunday at legendary london venue The End since 2006, before finding it's spiritual home here at Cable in 2010, Jaded has forged a culture and feeling born of London that is spiralling into the night-time and beyond.

For the best part of a decade Raymundo has stepped out with the premier DJs the world has to offer and held his own. Couple with this, guest appearances across the continent and we have an artist who fits the mould for the Cablecast perfectly; inspirational, wicked on the decks and 'Cable through and through'. We caught it with Ray for quick chat, check it out...

CC-Jaded is an integral part of the Cable family so as co-promoter alongside Krista and resident DJ, you're part of the furniture here. We're also approaching the 3rd anniversary of your journey here at Cable… It's flown by for us! How has it been for you?

RR-Cable has been amazing for Jaded, it is personally one of the best clubs i have had the pleasure of playing at, so it is even more rewarding inviting acts that we admire to come and experience it for themselves.

CC-What are your tips for surviving the after-hours push on? Pace yourself or stay in and get up at 5am?

RR-It's definitely all about pacing yourself, and you are usually rewarded with some very inspiring sounds if you make it all the way through to 1 o'clock on Sunday afternoon.

CC-Where, how and on what was the mix recorded?

RR-This mix was recorded at home on CDJs

CC-What was the idea behind the mix? Did you think about your experiences here at cable when you were planning for it?

RR-The idea behind the mix was to give a snapshot into the sounds i am into, and what you will be more than likely hear me play at Jaded on any given Sunday.

One of the most talented producers from these areas is signing his first release for our label! It is our great pleasure to present you his EP called "The Call" in collaboration with the fantastic vocalist Elly Ball! In addition to the vocal original and instrumental version, Tebra, signs another song, "Rosa", which translated into English means "Dew"! The EP with two or three originals is accompanied by a fantastic remix of the Greek music producer DSF, on which we don't have to spend words of praise! All in all, one really strong release on The Purr!
