As he entered the village, the goldfish man again began to doubt if he was in the right place. Smooth stone lined the roadway and, instead of the rough board houses he remembered, rich wooden doors — some elaborately carved — lined the street. As he pushed his cart down the narrow street, lively children dressed in gay colors flew toward him like a festival of silk kites. “Goldfish! Goldfish!” they cried. “Ma! Ba! Can we get one?” Parents walked over and smiled indulgently at their children, and by the time the sun disappeared, the goldfish man had sold out of his wares. Clearly this was not the same poor village he had come to before, where only that one girl purchased a fish. But then he remembered hearing a story about how a family that lived by the Jade River had given the King of the City of Bright Moonlight the incredible gift of a Dragon Pearl, refusing any payment. In gratitude, the king presented the entire village with gifts of seeds and farming equipment that brought more prosperity than any reward of gold and jade. Maybe this was the place. Ernest Oh belongs to a place where animals can speak and trees are made of poetry. This is his first offering for Shango Records. These three tracks can take you to the skies and far beyond. Dennis Allen, RIEL, Yassine H and Yusuf Lemone are the travelers of the plane to the land of modern times.

With over 25 years of experience as a DJ, and 15 years producing electronic music fused with indigenous rhythms and organic percussions, Sabo and his label Sol Selectas need no introduction. In November of 2020 Sabo released his 3rd studio album “Buddy System”, a collaborative effort with several producer friends from around the Globe. The album topped the charts and continues to move dance floors around the World. Sol Selectas now presents the “Buddy System Remixes” album, featuring 10 re-interpretations by some of today’s leading producers, both legendary, and up-and-coming.

Dj T. from Berlin, leads off with a powerful remix of “Daikato”, transforming the original downtempo version into a peak time frenzy of psychedelic synths and a groovy baseline which drive the tune.  

Dj Chus of the infamous duo Chus & Ceballos, and the legendary Stereo Records label, takes “Bakhu” and injects his own tribal flavor to create an Iberican drum workout. 

Laroz and T-Puse from Israel, and Mula (FR) of France, both rework the song “Celebration Santoor” which features the incredible Persian musician Bahramji. Laroz and T-Puse take the track into Afro tech direction, while Mula (FR) pitches things to mid-range deep house, with his dubby and heady interpretation. 

For the song “Imagine” we also have two new versions.  Inigo Vontier of Mexico warps the original into a trippy, indie dance excursion, chopping up the vocals, and weaving the plucked string instruments of the original with swirling synths and arpeggios. Abel Ray, a new producer from Morocco, elevates the vocals of Basel Khoury on his version of “Imagine”, and creates an emotional build up of synths and leads, resulting in an epic build explosion of groove. 

Turkish duo Derun, dear friends of the label, immediately requested to put their spin on “Duende” when they first heard Sabo play it. Known for their chunky tribal drums, and epic crescendos, Derun deliver a fresh energetic take on the original, which highlights the beautiful Greek guitar.  

Israeli Guy Mayaan gives “Min Q” his minimal cosmic flavor, adding disco congas, and happy synth stabs that will surely awaken the dance floor’s 3rd eye. 

Russian producer Zuma Dionys, expertly remixes the track “Red Lotus” in his signature down tempo style, with a high energy but low BPM excursion, perfect for those transcendental sunrise moments. 

And finally for the track “Fainá”, German producer Nutia delivers a gorgeously deep and dubby downbeat remix,  which feels like a magical dreamscape submerged in the ocean. 

Helia Jamali re-imagines her own artwork by brightening up the original, and shining a light on the diversity of this incredible release.

Another world, another day, another dawn. The early morning’s thinnest sliver of light appeared silently. Several billion trillion tons of superhot exploding hydrogen nuclei rose slowly above the horizon and managed to look small, cold and slightly damp. There is a moment in every dawn when light floats, there is the possibility of magic. Creation holds its breath. The moment passed as it regularly did on Medina, without incident. The mist clung to the surface of the marshes. The swamp trees were grey with it, the tall reeds indistinct. It hung motionless like held breath. Nothing moved. There was silence. The sun struggled feebly with the mist, tried to impart a little warmth here, shed a little light there, but clearly today was going to be just another long haul across the sky. Nothing moved. Again, silence. Nothing moved. Silence. Very often on Medina, whole days would go on like this, and this was indeed going to be one of them. Uped Acid Band fall asleep in Paris and wake up days later at Medina. This is their fourth offering for Shango Records. These three tracks are the oasis in the desert of your mind. M.Age.Project, Rabih Rizk and Jack Essek are the cobra charmers.

About the EP-*

In ancient Indian Texts, the Brahmastra (Sanskrit: ब्रह्‍मास्‍त्र, IAST: Brahmāstra) and its variants, the Higher brahmastra , and Brahmashirsha astra, are supernatural weapons collectively called Brahma weapons. The Brahmashirsha astra is a weapon that is said to be able to destroy the universe, capable of destroying creation and vanquishing all beings. They are the most destructive, powerful, and irresistible weapons mentioned in Hinduism. These weapons are all created by Lord Brahma.

It is termed as a fiery weapon that creates a fierce fireball, blazing up with terrible flames and countless horrendous thunder flashes. When discharged, all nature including trees, oceans, and animals tremble, and the sky surrounds with flame, glaciers melt and mountains shatter with copious noise all around.

When used, the Brahmastra which is person-centric can destroy a powerful enemy if he doesn't possess an alternate counter weapon. If it is Bhrmashirsha Astra it makes collateral damage and every useful resource in a given area and prevents even a single blade of grass from ever growing in that area again. It is mentioned in Epic that there will be no rainfall for 12 Brahma years (1 Brahma year = 3.11 Trillion Human years; 12 Brahma years = 37.32 Trillion Human years) and climate conditions will worsen. The strike of the Brahmastra will eventually destroy everything.

Arjuna and Ashwatthama almost used the Brahmashira astra against each other near the end of the Kurukshetra War, however both were stopped by Narada, Krishna and Vyasa to prevent the destruction of the world.
