Summer Sol IX, our annual melodies of the sun, will be released on the summer solstice. 

A diverse cultural collection of 25 original songs, highlighting a kaleidoscope of international talent and global instruments,
the 9th edition of Summer Sol features artists from over 17 different countries. 

Alongside many frequent label favorites, such as Sabo, Derun, Guy Maayan, and Desert Dwellers, we are thrilled to introduce several emerging talents, joining the Sol Selectas family for the first time.

Embark on a sonic odyssey as modern dance grooves intertwine with chill-out rhythms, and ethereal melodies, paying homage to our ancestral roots, and drawing inspiration from traditional folkloric sounds found in cultures worldwide.

The cover art by Helia Jamali takes us to a paradise beach escape where the sun warms up every cell of your being, and the ancient sand grains hold the secret sounds of the universe.

Sol Selectas welcomes back Safar with his "Majaneen" EP, featuring three Afro Tribal tracks inspired by his Moroccan and Arabic heritage.

The title track “Majaneen” translates to “the crazy people” and embodies the untamed energy of dance floors across the globe during Safar's performances. It also nods to his unique, wild style of storytelling through music.

“Laafou" literally translates to “Pardon” in English, and the song pays homage to a holistic ceremony from the Gnawa culture, a ritualistic practice aimed at seeking divine forgiveness. On the song Safar collaborates with AMVN, and Abdellah Stitou on vocals. 

On “Escalera” we hear the more melodic afro side of Safar’s expression, skillfully merging edgy analog sounds with Afro tech drums to forge an electrifying groove.

The artwork by Helia Jamali captures the essence of Majaneen in the  lands of the desert travelers, and the harmony of the ancient sounds and electronic beats.
