The 6th chapter of Summer Sol is here, and its time to sun bathe, sun gaze, and shower yourself with light. We present to you 28 stories of sunshine, to warm your heart, and move your body into a state of happiness.

This season we have our most internationally diverse line up to date, with artists from 21 countries: Mexico, USA, Spain, Mali, Turkey, Colombia, France, Argentina, Bulgaria, Italy, Germany, Morocco, Ukraine, Chile, Netherlands, UAE, Switzerland, Belgium, Hungary, Armenia, and Australia.

We welcome several new artists to the label like Dj Chus, Balam, La Payara, The Scumfrog, KÖNI, and Depart, to name a few. And we also have many seasoned Sol veterans like Sabo, Dandara, Amine K, Giovanny Aparacio, Mula, Amentia, and Chambord.

The music drifts from coast to coast, across several mountain ranges, deserts dunes, and salty oceans, spanning years of generational influences. The tempos, melodies, and rhythmic combinations take us from chill out, to groove, to tribal, to afro, to deep. We hope this music inspires, and carries you on a world wide tour.

The artwork by Helia Jamali takes us to a parallel dimension lit by the frequencies and energy of the SOL.

" The Summer Sol compilation brings together a global family of like-minded producers, all striving to move hearts, minds, and bodies  with original music that draws from our ancestral past, and propels us into the future, without limitations or borders. Producers from over 14 different countries bring us 21 original songs, with lyrics from 7 different languages. 

Popular well known artists such as Canson, Dance Spirit, LUM, El Buho, Matanza, Hraach, and Alejandro Mosso,  alongside fresh new artists like Rodrigo Gallardo, Spaniol, Armen Miran, Niju, V i V i D, Florista, and Peter Power, blend naturally with Sol*Selectas artists such as Sabo, KMLN, Goldcap, and SAAND. 

The track list is a journey itself, going from South American mid tempo, to Shamanic downtempo, to Middle Eastern deep house, to Latin tribal house, to Playa tech, to Ambient cumbia dub. 

Each song represents the multicultural influences of the artists, and shows the diversity of the Sol Selectas sound.  

The artwork by Helia Jamali visualizes the themes of summer and sunshine together perfectly.  This compilation will be released on the 1st day of the Summer Solstice - June 21st. 2016. "

A natural for stirring melodies, Berlin-based @samshure channels his all-around manifold array of talents into his new EP, „Mirage“, taken from his forthcoming debut album „Laconia“ on @stilvortalent. Shure says: „“Mirage“ is a collaboration with my father who plays the Oud lines in it. I had the main groove of the track ready in my Berlin studio and felt like it needed some acoustic element. „Kamala Bani“ was the first collaboration with amazing producer Cioz. We had the most fun working together in the studio and really enjoyed making the track. The track „Encanto“ is for sure a nighttime track with a mystical atmosphere. Der Werdegang von Solidmind führte den deutschen Produzenten durch Genres wie Deep House und Afro House, durch orientalische Obskuritäten und melodische Verflechtungen. Kein Wunder, dass da-bei letztendlich Reisemusik vom Feinsten herausgekommen ist. Seine mystischen Flächen, Flötenklän-ge und von Wüstenstaub angehauchten Saiteninstrumente erzeugen einen meditativen Fluss. Im Rhythmusbereich rufen archaische Perkussions und fettleibige Bässe einen gedankenverlorenen Bewe-gungsdrang hervor, in dessen zeitloser Ur-Energie die Stimmung eines Rituals brodelt. Die drei Tracks auf dieser EP funktionieren wie die Kapitel einer Geschichte: Sie haben die gleiche Seele, bringen aber jeweils eine andere Seite zum Ausdruck.

The evolution of Solidmind took the German producer through genres like Deep House and Afro House, through oriental obscurities and melodic meshings. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that his productions take us on a trip. His mythical pads, his flute sounds and the desert dust that swirls around the chords of his string instrument create a deeply meditative vibe. The rhythm section is heavy on archaic percussions and heavy on the bass, causing an involuntary itch to get moving as if we were caught by a compelling primal energy. The three tracks on this EP are like the chapters of a story: They share the very same soul, but each one gives expression to a different aspect of it.

It's time for Mynox and Vander to join forces again on their 'Petite Fleur' EP. Produced mostly during Vander's visits to Istanbul in 2019, 'Petite Fleur' and 'Cienlunares' explore dreamy and organic soundscapes. Both tracks seamlessly merge Vander's distinct grooves with the dreamy guitars of Mynox.

'Petite Fleur' blends deep and tribal grooves with atmospheric guitar sounds, travelling all around the sound field. The moog bassline growls gently underneath, supporting the rich harmonies with its soothing tone. We find ourselves floating in an ever-changing soundscape complemented by fluffy melodies.

'Cienlunares' ventures subtly into flamenco territory, making use of hopping rhythms that evoke the relentless energy of latin music. The longing melody of the guitar dances over a deep bassline and catchy percussions.

Staying true to his delicate melodic touch, Amsterdam-based producer Joep Mencke delivers a gorgeous cinematic rendition of 'Petite Fleur'. With this remix. The orchestration is moving and bright throughout the piece, showcasing Joep's sound design abilities.

Mexican-duo The Soul Brothers make their first appearance on Art Vibes with a minimalistic and dancefloor friendly rework of 'Cienlunares'.
