Press: A Quasar is the most luminous object in the known universe. It emits extreme amounts of visible light, but radiates like crazy on all other wavelengths, as well. Here you can get as close to a particularly energetic Quasar as no man has ever been before - during an adventurous space flight with Felix Eul and a bunch of other well-travelled sound cosmonauts. This voyage takes you to the final frontiers and beyond where you might even encounter strange aliens like the Pianoctopus, known to sneak its tentacles into the ears of unsuspecting astronauts and to tickle their skullcaps from the inside. By the way, during our flight we might experience turbulences which you will experience as sudden, adrenaline-loaded outbursts of euphoria. They are caused by transdimensional discharges along the wings of our spaceship, a phenomenon known as Interplay.

Sol Selectas is excited to welcome Kora to the label with his debut 2 track release the "Caddo EP". The title Caddo is inspired by the confederacy of several Southeastern Native American tribes, and the music brings us to a late-night ceremony. All the members of the tribe are united and chant together, and through the native drums, we feel the strength of their gathering. Wahiba - co-produced by Nic Falardeau, is the story of a lone nomad wandering the desert, confronting his fears, and overcoming them with his inner spirit.  The faith in his heart guides him along his path. Powel is well known for his soothing deep productions and appears here on Sol Selectas for his second remix. He brings the Wahiba pilgrimage to even further regions of the sand dunes, blissfully carrying us into the morning sunrise with his unique and patient approach to rhythm. The artwork by Helia Jamali fuses these two spiritual journeys together into one, visualizing the native's eternal quest under a dim moonlit sky, warmed by the fires of tribal unity.

Es klingt nach der großen, weiten Welt, die sich hinter dem Horizont der vier Himmelsrichtungen erstreckt – und nach jener noch viel größeren Welt, die sich nur hinter geschlossenen Augenlidern eröffnet. Offenbar ist Pay Kusten in beiden recht gut herumgekommen, denn seine Tracks sind gleichermaßen erdig und außerirdisch. Seine rhythmische Beschleunigung ist so ruhig und kraftvoll wie ein unter glatter Oberfläche strömendes Gewässer, man merkt kaum wie schnell man davontreibt. Das gelingt Pay Kusten sowohl im mittleren als auch im unteren BPM Bereich. Eingängige Melodien schnörkeln sich in den Tiefen des Arrangements um halluzinogene Sample-Auswüchse. Mit KlangDruide und Timboletti sind zwei ähnlich reisefreudige Remix-Künstler an Bord die uns in zwei weitere Groove-Dimensionen lotsen.

It sounds like the great, wide world that expands beyond the horizons of the rising and the setting sun - and it sounds like the vast world that reveals itself only behind closed eyelids. Apparently Pay Kusten is well-travelled in both of these worlds, because his tracks are both earthy and otherworldly. His rhythmic momentum has the powerful calmness of a river flowing beyond a perfectly smooth surface, you don’t even notice how quickly it carries you away. Pay Kusten plays this trick in the medium and in the lower BPM range. Catchy melodies entangle with hallucinogenic samples in the depth of the arrangement. With KlangDruide and Timboletti there’s two like-minded adventurers on board of this journey, navigating us into two more groove dimensions.
