When we first heard the tracks by Niju and Malü, our thoughts wandered straight to the beautiful time of the festival season. With their light-footedness and the still pressing bass, they are perfect for making the crowd shake at sunrise in the forest on a Monday morning.

To round off the matter properly, our musical heroes from the very beginning Ninze and Kleintierschaukel with Chrischou contributed a crisp remix.

As usual, we want to thank all artists involved for the great collaboration, as well as our mastering engineer Haunted Water and our artwork artist Kilian Van de Water

Mindfulness Episode 137

Rising duo Circumference is made up of Bristol based uni students & music producers Kit Jones and Finlay Freshney-Lee, who deliver gut punching soundscapes that will literally stop you in your skank. The young pair have an impressive 10 years of production experience between them, and have been releasing music on labels like Flexout, Overview and Soulvent over the last 2 years. Their latest output provides further insight into their awe-inspiring approach to dance music, which certainly leaves an impression to say the least.

Title track ‘Breathe’ crackles to life with that satisfying match stroke followed by an intense build through a seemingly endless series of crescendos. Orchestral, hard-hitting thumps of percussion are met with gritty vocals and an impending sense of doom. This one is likely to turn your next rave into a 999-call with immediate effect, and will most certainly have some of you reaching for your inhaler.

Thankfully, ‘Pyramid’ builds a more subtle foundation, with some welcomingly calmer tones to salve its predecessor's onslaught. The build-up offers more delightful synth work and a more traditional structure, which are met with whooshing, satisfying sidechaining and playful percussive elements.

The murky atmosphere of ‘SEE’ yet again switches up the vibe, with a more dystopian intro, followed by week-altering, half-time flavours. Drop number two progresses the synth wonderment with an even more risqué rhythm section switch up will have you grinning. This Ivy Lab-esque curveball proves that this pair are far from one-hit-wonders and worth considering as artists to watch as 2022 looms.

Finally ‘Breathe (Out)’ offers a real insight into the duos’ penchant and appreciation for more classically coined and intricate instrumentation. This heart wrenching reprise delivers just as much force as its brother, but with an unexpected twist in its drum pattern. Stress-inducing suspense levels are met with more tense strings and roars of bass which are a marvel all of their own and will certainly have you frowning on the tube and the dancefloor alike. Breathe in deep and appreciate this cleverly constructed, thought provoking EP from 2 of d&b’s most exciting prospects, landing in all good stores on the 19th of November.

VieL - Vasilis Lampaounas, was born in Greece in 1979. He started his career in 1994 as a radio producer-dj. Exploring several sounds such as acid jazz, soul, ambient, techno and drum' n' bass, finally to be infatuated with electronic music. After that and for a series of years since today he has taken part to many events as a guest or a resident dj in some of the most renown  places in Athens.

In 2009 he started his first steps in creating electronic music and based on his mood he processes with his favourite music genres: Deep House, Electronica and Melodic House, currently preparing his new set of music productions.

Some of his tracks get featured and supported by: Lost Desert, Yoko0, Nick Warren, Armen Miran, Death on The Balkony, Gorje Hewek & Izhevski, Kora, David Hohme & m.o.

Welcome back to our podcast series!

We are delighted to have Hungarian born, Zurich based dj, and founder of BEKOOL series, @curtiss as our narrator for this week's episode.

Curtiss have been working as a DJ and promoter since 2008 when he organised parties in Hungary. In 2010 he became a resident DJ in the Bora Bora Lounge in Dunaujvaros and he also opened two night clubs in Dunaujvaros and Siofok in 2010 and 2011.
Later in 2012 he moved to Switzerland where he played some big clubs such as Jack Club in Bern, Club Sleepless in Aarau and 696 Club in Zurich and in 2014 he was contracted as a resident DJ in the Terrasse Bar in Zurich.
His passion for electronic music lead him to create BEKOOL series, which is one of the most promising music concepts in Zurich and which is broadcasted on Radiodeep.net.

Music was very important to me as a child.
First of all hang up because of the love of music and for the lovers of electronic music.
For me it is very important to animate the party people to dance and to steadily increase them to bring my tracks to a boil on the dance floor.
