One of the thriving forces of the northern European electronic music scene, it's Steffan Todorović who is lined-up next for the art:cast series. As the founder and co-founder of Gestalt Records respectively Coymix Ltd, which Steffan runs with Timo Deeprhythms, the artist lets followers of the arts discover aspiring and renowned artists from the scene. It looks differently when it comes to his production project Abdul Raeva, where he specifically shares his own vision and approach of music together with his partner in crime Joonas, also known as Rashida Prime. The latest output was a contribution of the duo to Mint Tea's V/A Basic Contact alongside artists such as Zobol, Boulderhead and Toke and a track for Gestalt Records anniversary sampler, while in 2020 Steffan released music on Neptune Discs or Dance All Day Records among and others. Whether or not there's more music to come this year, the present has Steffan mixing and compiling a flawless art:cast covering fresh, older and upcoming bits of music viscerally put together to make you move through time and space, to get lost in the pads and stomp to lush bass lines.

Sebastian Swarm is a Glasgow based DJ, musician, visual mutator and co-operator of Lunacy, a record label and warehouse party that operated out of an old sweetie factory. He holds residencies with Glasgow based radio station, Clyde Built Radio and Marseille station, Ola Radio with his show Dannsa Càball. 

Swarm has released music on a number of labels such as Land of Dance, Meta Moto, Apéritif de la Mort, Huntleys & Palmers and more recently a remix for post punk/psychedelic band, Abrasive Trees.

For his LAYER, Sebastian selected the funkiest of digs and nastiest of waves, mostly from the beloved last decades of the XX century.

An impressive producer who has released on other labels such as Hard Fist & Ulla, Jackit regularly plays in his adopted city of Istanbul as well as other parts of the world.

Jumbala! Hailing from Brazil and now living in Berlin, Rotciv has been a long term hero of ours. He has a wavering catalog of fantastic releases on labels such as Permanent Vacation, Freeride Millenium and his own Mister Mistery label. His music's a bit on the darker and experimental side of the dark disco spectrum, and so is this podcast: Rotciv delivered a brooding mix that grips you right from the start, full of wavy gems, acid stompers and hands-in-the-air curveballs. With individuality and experimentation at her core, Ellie Stokes is very much her own DJ. Having immersed herself in Bristol’s music scene since arriving in the late 00s, she could reasonably be considered a product of the city’s unique creative culture. Let’s sidestep tired ideas about trip hop and D&B for a second and focus on the West Country capital as a hotbed of broadminded experimentation, with a community ethos and supportive framework that encourages talent to shine through. 

Stokes was already working within the music industry when she started to channel her passion into DJing – she was working at vital independent venue The Love Inn, one of the hubs of Bristol’s underground music culture, where she’s now the booking agent and venue manager. When the female / nonbinary Mix Nights DJ course began (helmed by leading lights such as Danielle and Daisy Moon), Stokes found the right nurturing environment to discover her instinct for selecting and spinning, initiating a career which has grown exponentially ever since. In 2018 she became a resident at Bristol’s leading club space Motion, and played life-affirming slots at premier league events and spaces such as Glastonbury, Love International, Warehouse Project, Love Saves The Day, Corsica Studios and Simple Things. 

As well as her dancefloor presence, where she’s likely to be plying leftfield house and techno tinged with industrial and 90s motifs, Stokes has a regular radio outlet via Bristol’s leading station, Noods. It’s on these shows her tastes truly open up, touching on ambient techno and electronica, all manner of wave-related sonics, EBM and much more besides. It’s a non-conformist style that favours individual expression over generic consistency, championing the omnivorous spirit of the times and presenting selections that feel honest, heartfelt and constantly surprising. 

Stokes’ musical endeavours reach beyond her DJing too – she also helps steer the city’s much-loved queer dance party Bitch, Please! and came on board as a partner in Futureboogie, which will soon branch out into a new label project in the near future. Her keen ear for the unusual and distinctive shine through in these ventures as much as when she’s on the decks, rounding out her positive contributions to all corners of the music scene in Bristol and beyond. She may be representative of the city as it stands right now, but Ellie Stokes is just as much her own vital energy in a tangled network of scenes, communities, parties and platforms that stretches out internationally.

Solstice started as a booking agency, but is now changing to event organisation. The goal of the company is to assure the best quality production that has been perfectioned over 5 years of global experience. By having experience from artists perspective playing in a club and as organisers - hosting artists, Solstice understands how to fulfil wishes of the artist and the listener and how to guarantee the best performance.

Founded by Mantas Pivoriūnas & Elena Ryškutė whose goal is to keep close family feeling with the artists and the party attendants, create a safe and special environment where people can feel safe and confident to express themselves and share the passion for electronic music.
