At long last, my debut EP! This is four songs about various thoughts I've had about Important Things over the past couple years (and also kinda sorta loosely inspired by rain; I might decide to just make rain part of my aesthetic/branding). I know I've still got a lot to learn w/rt music production, but I also think these are some of my best songs I've made yet! Thanks for listening, and I hope to make plenty more music going forward!

Shimmer

clouds drift listlessly through the sky
collecting the vapor that rises from the ground
not a care in the world

sometimes the clouds get heavy
until all of a sudden
they can’t contain their payload anymore
and release it
in a shower of rain

the rain cleanses all
the natural and the artificial
the shielded and the unshielded
the contented and the dismayed

i feel the raindrops strike me
not everyone likes rain
but i don’t care too much
it’s just water after all

but maybe it’s not
maybe it’s more than just rain
maybe this means something more to me

Rainfall

a boundary
between two different worlds

in this moment
familiar and uncertain
peace and anxiety
reality and imagination
swirl together in a puddle of feelings

i look into the puddle
i stare my image in the eyes

one foot in one universe
one foot in the other
what even am i anymore?

sometimes i wish i could stop existing
not forever
just for a moment
just to take a break from the world

sometimes i wish i could slow down time
when the world goes too fast
when there’s too much to take in

sometimes i wish i could hide from reality
in a universe of my own creation
where i can run around freely
where i don’t have to worry about time
where i can think things through as much as i want

but alas
time continues on
dragging me with it
towards whatever must come next

Pocket Dimension

another day and night i’ve spent out here
so many branching paths — it just seems so unclear
which way to go; i just don’t know
and i don’t have anything to show
for all of this searching and all of this time
as far as i’ve seen, there’s been nothing to find
just puddles, roads, and trees
don’t even know what i’m looking for

i’ve spent my whole life wandering
underneath the pouring rain
trying to find out how to get home
but these paths all look the same
and i’ve seen no signs of shelter
and i feel like i’m all alone
so i’m waiting here for you to take me home


i’m searching for some shining light to guide my way

and all i need to know is that it’s gonna be okay

why can’t it just be easier to navigate
along these endless paths, towards whatever uncertain fate
i say i’ll find my way someday
but i’m just walking in circles anyway
i can barely see the road ahead
and with every step i take, i’m overwhelmed with dread
all this time, i’ve seen no signs of home
