Every year deep in the Amazon rainforest of Brazil, the Yawanawa open their doors to foreign visitors and gather for five days in celebration of their freedom; to sing to the spirit and cultural ancestry of their people. 

Theirs is a story of great sorrow, but also of resistance, empowerment and of a cultural renaissance that shines bright above the threats their people have faced by colonization, evangelism and the modern world.

For days and nights the Yawanawa dance and sing, recalling the ways of their elders and partaking in their once forbid plant medicine rituals. They gather around the fire to call upon the wisdom of their elders, of Uni/Ayahuasca -their most sacred plant medicine, and of Rume snuff made of tobacco and ashes collected from the bark of the Tsunu trees. 

This downloadable album takes you to the village of Nova Esperanca where these recordings took place live, under the canopy of the Amazonian rainforest where the songs of a free people echo in the endless starry night.

I offer this song to the Family of Coyotes that have made their home in our back yard. They have a litter of pups as well... The neighbourhood is alert and holding space. I Pray for their safety and health that they flourish with love. I sit in my room looking out the sliding glass doors and see them chilling scratching and grooming. The Howling Coyotes you hear at the end are actually them! while I was recording they started up right in time. This song happened in real time with their inspiration.  I hope you enjoy and get inspired too <3

The Seperewa, also known as Seprewa or Sanku, is a Ghanaian (specifically Akan) harp-lute, similar to the Dagaare/Sisaala koriduo, the Mandé kora, the Guere duu, and Baule aloko.

Osei Korankye is the captivating flag bearer of Ghana’s seperewa tradition. The seperewa is the harp of the Ashanti and Akan people of Ghana. The instrument descended from the Sahelian north, prospered for centuries among various Akan groups, then almost disappeared as guitar playing spread from the coast.

Coyote Oldman is a duo of new-age musicians consisting of Native American flute players Barry Stramp and Michael Graham Allen.[1] The name Coyote Oldman is derived from the trickster archetype in Native American mythology.
Michael Graham Allen met Barry Stramp in 1981 at an Oklahoma City crafts fair. Their music can be described as new-age electronica. The duo plays Japanese and Indian flutes, Incan pan-pipes, ocarinas and Native American pipes, as well as contemporary instruments such as guitars and keyboards.
Oklahoma-born Barry Stramp (b. 1959) is a classically trained concert flautist, while Alabama-born Michael Graham Allen (b. 1950) is a manufacturer of handmade flutes in addition to being a musician.[2] Since 1987, the duo has released 12 albums.

On an amazing hike to 4 waterfalls in Munduk Bali... At the first falls was a Balinese family who had a small but beautifully loving restaurant in the depth of the forest. There they happen to be selling these sweet little Sulings for next to nothing. So I bought one and brought it along my very long barefoot hike to visit the next 3 waterfalls. Once we got to the 4th waterfall, Wow the spirits of the land opened So Inspired I played...

On a beautiful Hike on Feb 13th, 2020 into California's Palm Desert Canyons 
I found my self far out in a remote area surrounded and inspired by a beautiful desert oasis. Here I played my Anasazi Flute next to the stream. So inspired I slipped out of time and found myself playing for 11 minutes and 11 seconds 11:11.
I happen to record it all live in real-time raw and unedited. 
The haunting and moving sounds of the Anasazi Flute is truly a gift to this world❤️

I received the words for this Hymn at 4am On the " 1st Day of Spring" March 21st back in 2002 in a dream.  I was living on the Big Island of Hawaii deep-diving into the Santo Daime. I always loved Pad. Alfredo hymn "Pelas horas que são" #17 the words and the melody So beautiful. This Hymn came into my dreams that morning and these words I could hear as clear as day in his voice in my dream. Magical blessings...🙏
The Santo Daime will forever hold such an amazing place in my heart!

I wanted my audience to feel the cleansing and pure healing power of nature ... 
This Flute solo to me is medicine that can transcend you to a state of calm tranquility with a "going in deep" feeling... from thunder to rain to the sun shining with birds into the night and left with the crackling of the sacred fireplace. I imagine sitting beside the sacred fire giving gratitude and love, thus the name 'Yuwaka Ukis"  roughly translates to "Bless Us" in Lakota.  For we are so blessed by all Creator gives us!
