Shimmering in distant skies, a satellite galaxy of the Milky Way provides inspiration for Steve Slight and his "Magellanic Cloud". Rocket-fuelled percussion thrusts relentlessly onward while a filtered motif echoes across space and time. Intensity and passion are rolled into a powerful vision of the future. Iconic names from dance music's past come fully to the fore as D-Nox and Beckers coalesce in common purpose across Germany's industrial heartland. New melodies emerge in intelligent fashion from a commanding club-infused rhythm and a new "Magellanic Cloud" forms through exquisitely crafted motifs that evolve elegantly from familiar themes.

Across the Atlantic, from Toronto to Berlin, a masterclass is served courtesy of Dowden's grace and technique. A cavernous bass groove looks deep into the heart of the "Magellanic Cloud" as endless synth delays spiral across the stereo spectrum to create a new syncopated universe. A resonating force of nature echoes into the infinite distance before Polish flair rises across the UK. A fizzing, crackling surge of energy swells into a new sonic cloud that explodes with life through glittering arpeggios and raw elemental power. Rumbling bass notes and heavyweight beat inspire a new "Magellanic Cloud" to form across Controlwerk's musical galaxy.

This Summer continues to heat up as we welcome back Third Person to the label. This time they have been hard at work in the studio with vocalist Malika Yamila & 'Shoot Me To The Sky' is the stunning result. A dynamic, groovy, deep and hypnotic fusion of genres that perfectly fits in any kind of club or open-air festival.
Wurtz, Iberian Muse join us again on remix duties & have created a grooving melodic techno roller, fusing chord stabs with string ensembles and clinical percussion with a beautiful driving lead line.
Also on remix duties we welcome Capital Heaven head honchos Framewerk to Somatic. We are huge fans of their music & its fantastic to have them make not 1 but 2 edits in their 'Breaks' style.

Third Person Feat. Malika Yamila - Shoot Me To The Sky (Framewerk Epic Vocal Remix)

Welcome Enamour on Einmusika. The first two tracks, "Epiphany Engineering" and "Anima", came about in quick succession during Covid lockdowns, after a few months of shifting his leisure listening away from dance music to modern classical, jazz, and film scores. These two are an exploration into concerto arrangement, harmony, classical composition, and its modification for a club setting. He created an emotional journey and humanized his modular synthesizer in a classical-inspired way while still keeping the music relevant for the dance floor.

Though with Anima, he did find it necessary to provide a version with solely the melodic theme, without the limitations posed by a dance arrangement. The final track "Reticent" is another that he felt tapped into a similar energy and belonged on the record alongside the others.

D-Nox is back on Einmusika. This time he teamed up with Tel Aviv based producer Stereo Underground. "Dolby" is a straight forward progressive tune with a nice wide atmosphere. "Salt & Pepper" is more calm and dreamy with a pulsating bassline. Philipp Kempnich turned "Salt & Pepper" into a fresh breakbeat version.

For the first release of 2022, we are pleased to welcome Amsterdam- based Romanian Alex Preda, who already participated in Odd Echoes Vol. 3, and this time, he presents his debut EP  ̈Moons & Stars ̈ on the label with a fabulous remix by Lexer.

The Preda sound has developed over the years, with his taste developing into the electronic sounds of the likes of Jean Michel Jarre and Vangelis in his teens, into his signature driving techno. 

Always with an element of warmth and melody underneath and has evolved into integrating live elements into his performances, something Alex has been perfecting over the years.

The lead track Might Be Love ft. Katty Heath, is the perfect opener, full of groove and catchy melodies, that play along with the fx lead vocal, creating a super club piece.

Lexer approaches the reinterpretation of the lead track, adding new and catchy melodies, synthesizers and textures, giving his well-known stamp and taking the version to his own terrain.

Delving deeper into the EP, we find more of Alex's signature sound, but with a deeper and more emotional touch as shown in  ̈Don't Move" where the focus is on the beautiful chords that make the perfect match with the celestial synth melodies.

To close the EP we have “Searching” which is also another dance floor oriented track, fitted especially to turn the heat on the on any set. And last but not least, “Away from IT” is the perfect electronica/breaks closing track to round up this special EP.

Presenting their second release of the year, Phenomena welcomes label boss Elias Erium back for a new EP. After taking a two-year hiatus, the Canadian artist made a welcome return to the spotlight this year. Projects for Eleatics subsidiary Aletheia Recordings and long-standing Berlin powerhouse Steyoyoke set the stage for the March release of ‘Harvester'. Coming courtesy of Phenomena, the two-track showcase revealed a more hypnotic side of the Canadian’s repertoire, in turn garnering support from underground favourites Mind Against. Continuing on an upwards trajectory, Eilas now lands back on his comfortable home of Phenomena with ‘The Grove’. 

Elias’ capacity for storytelling resonates across the title selection 'The Grove’, as obsessive rhythms and hyperspace arps blanket warm punchy beats and monolithic grooves. The Montreal resident expounds his lavish future vision here, with prophetic drones and haunting pads providing a bridge into a desolate break. Clever co-actions and spirited synth phrasing makes for an intoxicating interlude, one which exudes a prophetic mood, before confidently returning to the groove for a heads down finale.

Continuing on a shadowy monochrome are the wintry qualities of 'Food for Thought'. Full of detail and idiosyncrasies, it's a cerebral voyage where the Canadian flexes his freethinking muscles, landing comfortably between soundscape science and groove-centric rhythms. The inevitable apex of this exploratory excursion mounts with shape-shifting layers and spiralling effects converging across an expansive break, achieving a thoughtful, austere timbre, before a melancholic lead sets the course for a cosmic conclusion. It rounds out an excellent EP from the Phenomena label boss, and preludes more good things to come as we approach the summer season.
