Can the extreme Black Winter pickup be used in a low gain, rock type song?  Sure it can!  Black Winter Bridge pickup in a Alder Body/Maple Neck guitar, tuned to D standard.  Using a Kemper Bogner XTC Red profile (maybe not the lowest gain profile)and a Kemper Blackface Bass Dimed profile.  The first 30 seconds are just both guitars mixed down with the Bogner to the left and the Dimed to the Right.  Then the next 30 seconds has just the Bogner, with the next 30 seconds being just the Dimed profile.  Finally a mix with bass and drums (and one additional guitar mixed in rather low for some added grit).  The song itself is called Trick Nickel and is available in three different versions for your listening pleasure.
