Affkt is one of the key names in the Suara's history. Not only for been the mastering engineer of the label since a couple of years, but for his great contribution to our catalogue. Remixes, EPs, tracks on compilations or Showroom releases, this awesome Spanish producer is not a newby in our headquarters. He's probably one of the most eclectic producers of the current techno/house scene thanks to his unique ability to do big dancefloor bombs and blow your mind with infinite melodies and emotive beats. To be honest we prefer the 2nd option. Actually we really love Affkt's introspective and poppy tunes. And that's what he offer us "Jakla" and "Aoub": beautiful and emotive stuff. What Affkt's does best in our opinion. Two German deep tech house stars like Gorge & Tube & Berger are on the remix duties. Hunter/Game project was born thanks to the artistic inspiration of two Italian producers based between Milan and New York. They perform secret loft parties, in which they are able to express their unique sound. The sound comes from a deep groove and it evolves thanks to electronic and pop influences, while keeping techno inspiration as its main element.

And it’s this sound that pricked the ears of Sasha, who instantly snapped up their single An Angel as the latest single for his label, Last Night on Earth. A single that adds another dimension to the label, An Angel will be released on the 22nd October digital only.

The rich bass, mellow vocals and eerie percussion introduced in An Angel builds suspense that’s consistent throughout the EP. With deep grooves fixed firmly in Techno, each track stays dark and twisted from the grave synths and worn out male vocals in ‘Novox’, to the rumbling bass and speech in ‘Your Essence’.

Canada’s My Favorite Robot Records looks to a brand new split artist EP featuring Tiger Stripes feat. Pete Fij and the My Favorite Robot boys with Silky and some stellar vocal performances...

Toronto based My Favorite Robot Records has had a standout 2012 with album projects from Jori Hulkkonen and Fairmont, a string of highly acclaimed singles and people flocking to the imprint in their droves. Part of the labels appeal has been it’s willingness to throw together different artist, bringing real depth and diversity, whether it be on the much lauded ‘Stimulus package’ series or the highly successful split artist EPs.
Now label label bosses My Favorite Robot step up to share the stage with the ever-excellent Tiger Stripes for the latest multi artist release.

The single kicks off with Tiger Stripes feat Pete Fij. Mikael Nordgren AKA Tiger Stripes hails from Stockholm, Sweden and is no stranger to the MFRR label having released his own ‘Crossroads EP’ on the imprint earlier in the year. Here he teams up with vocalist Pete Fij from Creation Records band Adorable to record the superb ‘Out of Phase’, an electronic odyssey that draws on thread of atmospheric deep house to provide the bed for Fij’s ethereal and emotive vocals, quality stuff.

The flipside sees the My Favorite Robot trio of James Teej, Jared Simms and Voytek Korab join forces with London based Silky for a dark tinged rework of the 1984 Tear for Fears classic ‘Shout’. The record is the product of a collaborative recording session held in London when the MFR teams were here on tour and it is superb fusion of a great pop record with some seriously twisted production. Dramatic synth lines, heavy delays and swirling FX create the soundbed for Voytek to deliver an impressive take on Roland Orzabal’s vocal parts and the end result is a quirky and genuinely unique version of a much loved classic.

My Favorite Robot Records deliver again with a single that shows once again why they are finding such favour, enjoy!
