ON and ON the Amsterdam based artist and events agency recently launched their new musical venture ON Records with an ep from Jeff Rushin & Nicole Rosie. 001 received a wealth of warm support and today ON returns with its new release from fellow Dutch artists, Doka & SHLTR. 

For 002 ON takes a trip to the south of the Netherlands (via Amsterdam). Doka is a name on the on rise. His uncompromising, relentless productions has already seen release on Wolfksuil and Android Muziq and he a regular on the Dutch techno circuit. 

Dub techno is the first love of SHLTR and his own production style also touches on ambient and electronica. Together the pair form an impressive partnership, melding their sounds and styles in perfect harmony to create two stunning original tracks in Skarn and Sovite. 

Keeping it Dutch, ON welcome Darko Esser in his TRIPEO guise on the remix of Skarn. The Wolfskuil and Balans boss has been blazing a trail with his ltd vinyl only Tripeo series and is now taking the act on the road. Here he takes Skarn on a beautifully powerful acid-laced trip that is certain to please.

I’m Coming Back

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Tassilo Vanhöfen . "Flow My Tears" comes off the new V/A, Altered States Vol. 12, forthcoming on SINCHI. The label returns with the twelfth volume of its influential series, featuring artists from all over the world.

All sales from this not-for-profit release will be donated to the Sinchi Foundation to support Indigenous forest guardians in the Brazilian Amazon.

The release opens with Tassilo Vanhöfen, a visionary musician whose work reflects a profound appreciation for both the organic and synthetic, creating a dynamic interplay that captivates audiences and evokes a sense of introspection. Flow My Tears, an ethereal dance cut inspired by a deep dive into ’90s and 2000s Russian techno, blends nostalgia with emotional depth. Drawing from the genre’s signature vocal-driven, euphoric sound, he channels its distinctive charm, while crafting something uniquely his own.

When mulling which direction to go in for RA's 1000th mix celebrations, many options came to mind. Some shadowy character 2-stepping around the fringe of our collective consciousness? An impossible-level IDM icon?

All tempting. But, ultimately, we are a DJ-forward publication and this is a DJ mix series. It felt truer to the history of the RA Podcast to release deep vault material from a time when the world of niche records felt different, tighter, more discrete.

The fourth-longest mix in the series' history is an unrepeatable marathon set recorded in 2012 at a superclub that no longer exists. 2012, incidentally, is farther away from 2025 than 2012 was from 2000... if we have to clock it, so do you.

It's the coming together of one British icon who passed away in 2020, and another whose time on the road has scaled back considerably as of late. DJ Harvey agreed to exactly one b2b set in his life: this one, with Andrew Weatherall.

The night took place at Trouw, an Amsterdam club already considered legendary before it shuttered its doors in the opening hours of 2015, as part of an RA series anchored around start-to-close combinations. Harvey was at the peak of an irresistible career second act, which dovetailed with a disco revival that dominated clubs for years. Weatherall, with infinite brownie points stockpiled from the '90s, remained everyone's favourite debonair psychonaut. 

What follows is 385 scintillating minutes of arpeggiated chug and slow-cresting climaxes: a moment when the resting heart rate of dance floors plunged lower than any comparable point in the 21st century. A masterclass, entirely self-contained in audio form.

If you've got time to spare, a fun side game is sussing out who plays what. A disco-dub cover of Echo & the Bunnymen? Smart money's on Weatherall. Exuberant EQ'ing of The Isley Brothers? Gotta be Harvey. As for the low 'n slow, lightly spangled house that was all the rage in the early 2010s (think Maxxi Soundsystem, Disco Bloodbath, Rub & Tug, C.O.M.B.I. and Full Pupp), it's anyone's guess. 127 BPM feels practically like an F1 car.

When we kicked off our RA.1000 campaign, we outlined a few goals: tick off a handful of long-awaited dream guests, honour architects who shaped the world around us and deliver recordings you truly can't hear anywhere else. Full send.

DJing and the mythmaking around it has undergone a quantum leap since 2012, let alone 2006, 1996 or 1989. For those of us who were kicking around in the former, there's a creeping melancholy that our prime is fast becoming a matter of historical record. The killing moon really did come too soon. 

Where will electronic music, DJ sets or any of this be in 2044? Hard to say. Best not to overthink that one. Instead, we want to say thanks to all contributors on the series so far. New Delhi DJ and producer Venky continues to rise through the global underground with Show Me 
Love, a hi-NRG 2-track EP and his debut release for HE.SHE.THEY. Records, out the 21st of August. 
Show Me Love follows a string of career-defining moments for Venky. His tribal-infused 2024 
collaboration ‘Leleko’ with Janika Tenn climbed the Beatport charts, while recent track, ‘Keep It 
Strong’ with Parallel Voices increased the heat with its deep, emotive groove. His 2021 cut 
‘Clairevoyance’ on tastemaker imprint Dynamite Disco Club proved a turning point, cementing his 
place in India’s blossoming underground revival. 
Over the past few years, Venky has become one of India’s most trusted selectors, sharing booths with 
Spencer Brown, Because of Art, Just Her, Bebetta and gracing the decks at  venues across Delhi, 
Goa, Bangalore and beyond. His remixes (including 2021’ take on Roger Sanchez’s ‘Lost’) have drawn 
praise from heavyweights including Fatboy Slim, Benny Benassi, Catz 'N Dogz, Tita Lau, and Pretty 
Pink - along with a guest feature on Sanchez’s Release Yourself radio show. 
Rooted in the foundations of house and techno, Show Me Love marks a step into new sonic terrain 
and captures the hi-NRG spirit that has made Venky a standout in India’s electronic scene. Driven by 
crisp percussion, lush synths, and emotive vocal samples, the release reflects Venky’s growing 
reputation for dancefloor heat with depth. With his finely tuned sense of tension, groove and 
euphoric payoff, this is music made to move you - on summer rooftops, or late night city missions. 
Opening and title track ‘Show Me Love’ sees Venky push into harder, experimental territory. Blending 
cinematic strings with hard-edged synths and a stirring vocal hook, the track walks the line between 
tough and tender, showcasing his evolution as both a producer and performer. ‘Live In The Moment’ 
expands the emotional palette. Built on sharp vocal chops and a deep, bouncing low-end, it’s a track 
designed for connection - between friends, strangers, dancers. The EP also includes club-ready edits 
of both tracks. 
Venky says: 
“This EP is a real departure from my usual style. I was experimenting with new sounds, trying to 
recreate something I’d heard online, but it ended up evolving into something totally different. Each 
track has its own unique vibe for different moments on the dancefloor,  ‘Show Me Love’ brings fun, 
dreamy summer energy, while ‘Live In The Moment’ is dirtier, groovier, and built for peak time. 
They’re not your typical ‘Venky’ tracks at first listen, but they still carry the funky drums, catchy 
vocals, and sweet melodies I always try to include.” 
A regular presence at India’s underground clubs and festivals, Venky brings a sound that’s both 
classic and cutting-edge, rooted in house and techno but driven by global influences and local heart. 
With releases on 303lovers, Stealth Records, Simma Black already under his belt, and now 
HE.SHE.THEY., Show Me Love is Venky entering a pivotal new chapter, one that bridges the energy of 
India’s underground with the momentum of the international scene.
