Daily Distortions is the debut album from New York/Philly hybrid, Someone In A Tree. It includes upbeat favorites, "Blankets As Shades" and “And I Will Walk Across The Way." The dreamy “Roots,” and metro bombast of “I Saw A Giant Die On Madison Avenue,” continue to stretch the shape of the pop song and how we recognize it.

Grateful blessings for the view, 
rare how ladders welcomed you. 
One hundred-fifty stories tall, 
the lowest heel
had heard them all.

And I saw a giant mouth 
with desks for teeth,
a carpet tongue,
lapping all the masses up. 
Worthy climbers
top the rung.

But towers are taller than giants, 
and towers will let it be known. 
Giants may strike,
but towers will fire
every arm they own.

Golden parachutes caught wind, 
the gilded few
who flew from view.
A warning call,
the flock did sound,

Someone In A Tree are a New York outfit who met as music students, and also represent backgrounds in the Philly scene. Their self-made recordings weave odd meters and fresh progressions into the Alternative formula. All four members write and sing uptempo songs of uncertain love, refusals to wake up in the morning, and primal lust for the women of strangers. 

Sounds like Weezer and Radiohead trying to eat each other. Pinkerton meets In Rainbows.
